Commercial Electrician Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings, including lighting, power outlets, and energy management systems

Position Overview
The Solar PV & BESS O&M Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility-scale solar PV and energy storage systems. This role requires understanding of solar operations and electrical systems, with the ability to perform tasks independently while following established safety procedures. Technicians contribute to the overall efficiency of site operations through preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and system monitoring.
Responsibilities
Technicians in this role will:
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on AC and DC systems, including inverters, PV modules, transformers, switchgear, and high-voltage components
Monitor plant operations through SCADA and contribute to commissioning, testing, and system modifications
Follow strict safety protocols, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), ensuring compliance with site procedures
Troubleshoot electrical systems and support maintenance as required
Work with remote operators to identify and resolve site issues efficiently
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities using CMMS software
Provide guidance to other technicians as appropriate to experience level
Execute installation tasks with proficiency in torquing, calibration, and the use of specialized tools
May also be required to:
Lead advanced troubleshooting across multiple OEM platforms, including controls interface and system diagnostics
Develop and implement Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and electrical work plans

Serve as the primary customer interface, communicating site conditions, needs, and technical findings to internal and external stakeholders

Job Summary
The Electrician ensures the integrity and reliability of the facilities electrical and control systems in the Maintenance department. This position will be responsible for executing electrical and instrument tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively by functioning both independently and as a team to troubleshoot and solve problems. The electrician will be responsible for keeping up to date one-line diagrams, and panel labeling. The Electrician will work closely with contractors performing large scale projects to ensure compliance and understanding of system being installed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Keep generator, lighting, and electrical systems in working order. Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts.
Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs, must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether business can continue as usual. If regular activities must be stopped, the electrician will have to estimate how long a shutdown will last.
Make periodic inspection for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contractors, relays, timers and controls
Performs electrical maintenance and repair work; install/replace fixtures, switches, receptacles and wiring.
Operates a variety of standard power tools, equipment and trenchers in electrical installations, maintenance and repair activities on a regular basis
Maintains records and logs as needed
Keep up to date documentation.
Log work into a CMMS system to ensure equipment maintenance work is recorded
Perform other various tasks as instructed by management. Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends, as required

Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
Perform yard, grounds and building maintenance duties. Replace, repair and glaze windows and glass. Make plumbing repairs such as repairing valves, cutting and threading pipe, tubing and hoses. Replace lights, ballasts, cords, receptacles and other general electrical duties. Perform painting duties and generally assist in all maintenance work as instructed.
Perform above duties in a safe manner and without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs. Consistently produce work of proper quality and quantity.

Job Summary
The Electrician ensures the integrity and reliability of the facilities electrical and control systems in the Maintenance department. The mission of Facilities Management and Building Construction at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide a safe, secure, and efficient environment for staff, inmates, and visitors.
