Observes the operation of systems and equipment, and applies various testing and diagnostic methods and procedures to locate and correct malfunctions and/or failures and ensures maximum system performance. Performing preventive and predictive maintenance on plant electrical equipment that includes Baker surge testing, partial discharge data collection, thermographic and airborne ultrasonic inspections, high voltage and current testing, TTR testing, and Ductor testing. Responsible for generating electric power in compliance with corporate safety policies, mandatory electric reliability standards, and regulations from FERC, EPA, EPD, OSHA, DOT, and other pertinent governmental authorities. Job Duties: Takes the lead in performing check-outs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment such as, but is not limited to, protective relays, over-current devices, meters and transducers, electrical switchgear and circuit breakers, electric motors and motor controls, generators and excitation equipment, batteries, and power inversion and conversion equipment. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Observe corporate and plant(s) safety rules and practices. POSITION/TITLE: Plant Electrician - Maintenance WORK LOCATION: Stone Mountain, GA POSITION REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager WORK TYPE: ON SITE JOB SUMMARY: Diagnoses and performs electrical and mechanical repairs on cup machines, inspectors, baggers, pre-expansion machines and conveyors along with repairing molds and performing change-over of molds. Uses drawings, diagrams, operational manuals, manufacturing specifications, etc., when diagnosing problems and making repairs. Repairs electrical components, cylinders valves, pumps, motors, cooling tower, piping, boilers conveyors, baggers, pre-expansion and cup machines. Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical components are safe by testing with ohmmeter, batter and buzzer, oscilloscope. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit along with pulling the wiring. Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels Provides assistance to other Maintenance Mechanics while working on production machines and associated equipment. Notifies the Maintenance Lead about any needed repairs that are outside of their scope of responsibility or ability to repair. Perform work in a safe manner to include performing LOTO of equipment before making any repairs. Attend meeting and training session as required. Follow all GMP and sanitation guidelines along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Manager including special projects and working with outside vendors and contractors while on site.
