New employees can earn $90K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM + OT including some weekends
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician III supports production operations by performing preventative electrical/mechanical maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs production equipment, and performs repairs and maintenance of facility. Completes preventive maintenance and general maintenance in proper working order while abiding by all specified rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performing troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic mechanical systems.
Analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment- overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders. Assist with the service and repairing of more complex equipment.
Complying with applicable regulations according to OSHA and the department's Safety program.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC programs.
Provide scheduled and emergency repairs to production equipment during production shift.
Install and maintain production/facility equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to safety protocols.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

Must have basic knowledge of lock out / tag out and PPE.
Experience in operating, troubleshooting and repairing various types of production machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Assist Mechanics and Electro-Mechanics in diagnosing and resolving electrical or control-related issues.
Provide training and coordinate the activities of Electro-Mechanics across all shifts as needed.
Occasionally work offsite to support equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
Ensure production equipment is maintained according to the production schedule.
Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections safely while equipment is operational.
Address corrective, preventive, or scheduled repairs during equipment downtime following company and vendor specifications.
Work independently or with a mechanic to identify and rectify equipment failures, restoring production promptly.
Complete tasks in adherence to government regulations, GMP, safety standards, quality control measures, and company procedures.
Perform preventive, scheduled, or corrective maintenance on batching and continuous process control systems, including networks, AC/DC and servo drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
Maintain secondary systems for steam, hot and chilled water, pneumatic air, electrical power, refrigeration, HVAC, and emissions control.
Keep accurate work records in accordance with work orders, backlog, and job assignment systems.
Carry out other assigned duties as required, which may include travel for parts procurement, training, or additional responsibilities.
Aim to enhance the quality, legality, and safety of products and manufacturing processes.
Ensure the assigned work area is clean and organized, reporting any potential contamination or suspicious activities to a Supervisor immediately.
Qualifications:
High school/military training and practical experience in a related field, with a background in complete machine and electrical control system installation.
Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi software, as well as preventive maintenance software, is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems design documentation.
Working knowledge of control system projects, including machine layout, control drawings, P&ID, and basic troubleshooting for A/B-Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi.
Ability to perform basic and advanced mathematical calculations, converting units of measurement.
Competent in completing forms detailing maintenance work performed.
