Background
* Works under general supervision of the Electrical Supervisor in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.
* Perform general industrial electrician duties (installation, maintenance, and service of electrical systems), with strong emphasis on running and landing wires, building panels, new startup check outs, running and bending conduit, and mounting wire raceways.
Tasks
* Maintain devices that provide power to and controls for the plant distribution, machines, equipment, and other gear.
* Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical control and instrumentation systems for a variety of purposes, including production, climate control, security, and communications.
* Inspect equipment, locate, and correct problems before breakdowns occur; use preventative and corrective maintenance techniques to diagnose, isolate, and repair electrical. * Work with blueprints and follow the National Electrical Code, state, and local building codes.

* Plan sequence of installation (including collaboration with process/project engineers, operations, and other maintenance staff) to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.

Job Description
The Instrument / Electrical Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Operations Supervisor and is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all process instruments, controls, computers, PLCs and electrical systems at the Baldwin Power Plant.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots and repairs of electric, electronic and control circuitry, programmable logic controllers, AC and DC motors, breakers (120v 1-phase to 4160v 3-phase), transformers, power supplies, fiber optics, generators, plant lighting, plant telephone and paging systems, and HVAC equipment
Perform process instrumentation calibration and repair

Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent completion of an approved apprenticeship program
48 months experience in instrument and electrical maintenance in a power plant or heavy industry (Power Plant experience preferred)
Possess a working knowledge of mathematics and physics
Must provide documentation to support their instrument and electrical experience
Possess patience and ability to exercise care when working with small and precision parts
Must possess basic computer skills needed to perform job functions as needed in a computer-based maintenance system.
Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry heavy loads
Ability to work in areas involving heights, enclosed spaces, and near or above water
Must be available and willing to work overtime, and ability to work 12 hour shift work.
This position requires to work either the 12-hour shift or straight day 8 hour shift.
Must successfully complete/pass POSS/MASS aptitude test

DUTIES
This professional will integrate control circuits for machine functions such as motor controls, sequence of operation, timers, limit switches, interlock and safety devices, sizing of fuses, overloads and wire, and panel layouts.
Will also design logic and programming of GE Fanuc CNC and PLC controllers, Robot controllers, and Allen-Bradley PLC's. Travel to customer facilities for installation and trouble shooting - candidate must be able to travel 50% of the total work time. Must be able to work in a changing task environment daily. Must be self-motivated, work well in a team environment and capable of performing detailed assembly with quality craftsmanship mentality focused on detail.
