Background * Works under general supervision of the Electrical Supervisor in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards. * Perform general industrial electrician duties (installation, maintenance, and service of electrical systems), with strong emphasis on running and landing wires, building panels, new startup check outs, running and bending conduit, and mounting wire raceways. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS * Install code compliant raceways, pull and terminate cables, and test control panels and instruments * Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, plus all other departments in Manufacturing * Ensure that electrical installations comply with Class 1 Division 1 & 2 locations and Intrinsically Safe electrical requirements per the National Electric Code * Review electrical drawings and bill of materials required to assemble panels * Install, pipe, and wire industrial control panels, piping interconnects, and cable raceways * Cut openings, mount parts, drill/tap holes as needed * Install all necessary cables and wires to their proper connections inside the enclosures and device end-point terminations * Test and troubleshoot completed systems and make necessary corrections * Record data and write reports to provide feedback to engineering on future design improvement ideas * Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work area * Understand the operation of all equipment to ensure proper assembly and operation * Provide assistance to other areas of Manufacturing as needed * Some travel to customer sites to support field service requests Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS * Certificate or equivalent education/experience in industrial controls or electrical automation technology; degree in Control Systems Technology, Electrical Technology or equivalent program preferred * Demonstrated aptitude for working with electro-mechanical systems such as pumps, piping, pneumatics, PLC's, liquid level controls, etc.; Strong understanding of electrical schematics and PLC's. * Demonstrated knowledge of PLC controls * Previous experience with Safety procedures such as lockout/tagout, arc flash protection, and confined space entry * Experience writing reports and reviewing project files * Strong communication skills; ability to perform in pressure situations; ability to be flexible * Able to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a team, all with a high degree of professionalism * Maneuver heavy equipment, up to 50lbs of lifting required * Hands on experience with fabrication and service of large process equipment * Advanced understanding of process flow schematics, P&ID's, electrical and mechanical schematics. * Safe operation of hand and power tools PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment and systems within the facility. Certifications in mechanical systems and industrial electrical are highly desired but not required. Possess the ability to read blue prints, schematics, diagrams, sketches.
