Essential Job Functions Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot various electrical systems and components, including 600V and 480V 3-phase systems, VFDs and servo drives, safety relays, PLCs/HMIs, controls, and instrumentation devices. Assist in electrical and automation improvement efforts throughout the plant, including check-out, start up and commissioning support of new equipment. Aid in predictive and preventative maintenance, calibration and adjustments of controls and electrical systems. Essential Qualifications Must possess Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license, Plant Journeyman (PJ), General Journeyman (J), or higher. Knowledge of electrical installation and safety standards in adherence with NFPA 70 and 70E. Able to utilize and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, and engineering specifications to determine work and troubleshooting procedures. A team-oriented mindset; willingness and ability to take on other functional roles in the facility as needed. Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and manipulating parameters and machine functions via HMIs. Experience with high-speed packaging machinery, robotic cells, and servo drives. Basic knowledge and troubleshooting common industrial communication networks and protocols. Process instrumentation and sensor testing, calibration, and troubleshooting. We are currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician to work in our 34th Avenue Albany, OR Operations facility. This is a 4x12 night shift role. Specific days may vary to support operational and business needs. Relocation assistance will be available to the ideal candidate. There will be plenty of day-to-day work variety in this position. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot, maintain, test and repair electrically powered or controlled electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machines, systems and components. You will also work on equipment which may include PLCs, AC and DC motors and generators, SCR's, VFD's, transformers, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic controls, control panels, starters, switches, lighting equipment, power distribution and control circuits, conduits, and fittings. A successful Journeyman will be a self-starter and be self-motivated. This role is instrumental in providing maintenance, repair, and support to each department so they can meet production goals, objectives and customer expectations. To accomplish this, you'll work collaboratively with Operations and all departments across the plant, to provide expertise on a variety of work orders. Responsibilities: * Read electrical schematics and PLC ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions. * Ability to troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and controls; ability to read and understand relay, ladder logic, and schematic diagrams. * Possess good computer skills and knowledge of networking principles in order to communicate with equipment controllers. * Follow written instructions to perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks. Working knowledge of safe electrical work practices, including requirements of NFPA 70E. * Use various test equipment and hand tools including, but not limited to, electrical test instruments, computers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, high voltage test equipment, power hand drills, grinders, drill and cutting press welding equipment, pipe threading machine, soldering equipment, pipe benders, safety equipment, and miscellaneous hand tools. * Work on equipment which may include PLCs, AC and DC motors and generators, SCR's, VFD's, transformers, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic controls, control panels, starters, switches, lighting equipment, power distribution and control circuits, conduits, and fittings. Basic Qualifications * A minimum of 4 years of electrician work experience in industrial, manufacturing, and/or processing industries with a specialty in 3 phase, 480V power distribution system. * Requires one of the following Electrical Licenses: * General Journeyman (J) * Limited Supervising Electrician (PS) * Limited Journeyman Manufactured Plant (PJ) * General Supervising Electrician (S) Preferences * Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems; knowledge of National Electrical Codes; knowledge of electronics, vacuum technology, hydraulics, mechanics, and pneumatics. * Ability to troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and controls; ability to read and understand relay, ladder logic, and schematic diagrams. * Must have experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
