Key Responsibilities Develop, document, and implement operating procedures for extrusion, pelletizing, grinding, sawing, and CNC routing equipment. Train production operators and maintenance personnel on safe, efficient, and standardized equipment operation. Specify, document, and manage requests for quotation (RFQs) for new equipment and production systems. Negotiate with suppliers to optimize cost, performance, and delivery. Oversee equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning at both Phoenix and Elkhart facilities. Lead process optimization and continuous improvement projects to increase throughput, reduce scrap, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (such as 5S, SMED, and standard work) to improve workflow, minimize changeover time, and eliminate waste. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues related to extrusion and secondary equipment. Maintain accurate process documentation and equipment data within the company's ERP system. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure new equipment meets production, quality, and safety requirements. Support the development and implementation of preventive maintenance and process control systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in plastic extrusion, compounding, or related manufacturing. Proven experience leading process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Strong knowledge of extrusion, pelletizing, grinding, and secondary processing systems. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred). Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics. Experience specifying, procuring, and commissioning industrial equipment.
