THE ROLE

Manufacturing Engineer II

Are you ready to take on diverse and engaging challenges in a supportive environment? We're looking for someone like you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer II. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, each with its own unique scope and complexity. With the guidance of our experienced team members, you'll play a crucial role in achieving project objectives within budget and timeline constraints. Your work will primarily focus on the development and enhancement of products, designs, and processes. From initial concept to final implementation, you'll be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle, including research, planning, design, testing, and analysis. Drawing from your training and experience, you'll contribute innovative solutions to meet project requirements.
Responsibilities
* Lead small-scale engineering projects from concept to implementation, securing buy-in from senior engineers.
* Independently resolve production issues using expertise in one or more technical disciplines.
* Develop and execute testing protocols with input from team members.
* Define quality expectations and implement QA procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
* Create and maintain production documentation, including work instructions, QA matrices, bills of materials, and production procedures for specific products or activities.
Essential Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
* Strong project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Comfortable using hand tools and power tools in a production environment.
* Hands-on experience in one or more technical disciplines: Rubber, Fabrication, Forming, Coatings, Castings, Machining.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Proficiency in manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, power tools, and fabrication.
* Experience in metal forming, root cause analysis, welding, and capital expenditure (capex).
* Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
* Ability to conduct risk assessments and perform statistical analysis.
* Familiarity with SolidWorks and process engineering.
Work Environment
This position is based in a production and industrial manufacturing work environment. Team members should be prepared to engage in hands-on activities, which may result in grease stains on clothing. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
