What You'll do as a Manufacturing Engineer * Review and process product documentation pertaining to engineering drawings including initial release and subsequent revisions. * Review products for the purpose of increasing quality, delivery, safety and reducing manufacturing cost through value analysis, material substitution, process changes, etc. Recommend rearrangement of plant facilities. * Develop clear and concise manufacturing specifications/instructions to maintain quality and to assure smooth workflow through the factory. * Provide floor support during the manufacturing cycle, verify standards, and update manufacturing specifications. * Assist with review and implementation of factory test equipment. * Develop workmanship standards to accommodate manufacturing/inspection and assure conformance to specifications. * Develop manufacturing costs. * Assure manufacturing facilities, tooling and test equipment are available to meet production requirements. * Perform manufacturing studies leading to recommendations for new and improved methods, procedures and equipment utilization. * Review and evaluate plant capacity and capabilities; recommend action to optimize burden absorption. * Evaluate and process defective material. * Do problem solving analysis to improve the quality, delivery, safety and cost. * Validate processes as needed. The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Required * Bachelor's Degree. * Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering. * Demonstrate proficiency in Lean Six Sigma Principles. This includes knowledge of both Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, which focuses on reducing waste and improving process quality, respectively. * Demonstrated technical knowledge related to area of responsibility. * Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and decision making skills.
