We are looking for an Manufacturing Engineer to join our team to efficiently produce our legendary products.
In-Person attendance required, no remote work. No relocation assistance available.
SUMMARY
This position primarily supports operations through the following initiatives
Refining and standardizing processes
Leading and participating with lean and continuous improvement projects
Reducing and standardizing machine setup
Trouble shooting and resolving quality related issues as well as reducing scrap and rework
Developing cost reduction programs through analysis of alternative materials and processes
Be the responsible engineer on production released designs, ensuring smooth transition from design to production.
Assist with the introduction of new products from the design and development phase to production release.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead continuous improvement teams to analyze and improves manufacturing methods by implementing solutions such as using new or improved fixtures, machinery, equipment or handling methods.
Use root cause analysis methods to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing-related issues.
Provide quotes and cost estimates of improvement efforts including but not limited to fixtures, machinery, handling methods or new materials.
Communicates with vendors and purchasing to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts.
Communicate with management, new products, and other staff regarding current manufacturing capabilities and ideas on developing future capabilities.
Improve overall processing of material in various fabrication and assembly processes through data collection and analysis by reducing cycle time, lead time, cost and quality defects.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, drawings, 3D CAD models and standard operating procedures.
Develop project plans and own responsibility for completion of milestones that identify all project steps, resources required and capital requirements.
Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well within cross-departmental groups and clearly communicate solutions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree or equivalent from four-year University or Technical school in one of the following disciplines:
Manufacturing EngineeringIndustrialEngineering
Mechanical Engineering
5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a lean based manufacturing environment.
Solidworks experience required.
AutoCAD experience a plus.
PLC programming experience preferred.
Proficient at the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Word)
Intermediate understanding of Machine G&M code, CAM programming experience preferred.
Experience with metal working (grinding, machining, heat treating) preferred
Experience with Lean Methodologies such as Kaizen, Value Stream Maps, 5S, and 8 Wastes.
Professional Skills
Ability to read, interpret and develop documents such as blueprints, safety regulations, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals into visual work instructions for employees.
