What you will do
Job Title: Network Industrial Engineer - Process, Systems and Automation
Service Market Logistics (SML) is an organization within Volvo Group Truck Operations (GTO). Our responsibilities are to design, manage, and optimize the supply chain of aftermarket parts for all Volvo Group brands. In North America we support Mack and Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, and several Volvo Bus brands. The scope of SML includes transport of material to warehouses, inventory management, management of packaging, and dealer order fulfillment. We ensure that all logistics services are delivered with world class operational excellence utilizing LEAN tools.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Improvement and Optimization
* Analyze current logistics and warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
* Design and implement standardized workflows, KPIs, and lean methodologies throughout the supply chain utilizing the Lead DC concepts and principles
* Lead cross-functional Kaizen events and projects to reduce waste and improve throughput.
* Clearly document, recommend and prioritize IT changes to support improvements in operations
2. Warehouse Slotting & Optimization
* Analyze current warehouse layouts and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Develop and implement efficient slotting strategies to optimize space utilization and product flow.
* Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure effective implementation of slotting plans.
3. Technology & Automation
* Evaluate and implement automation solutions (e.g., conveyor systems, robotics, WMS enhancements).
* Partner with IT and operations teams to integrate new technologies and systems and to improve existing systems
* Ensure seamless integration of automation technologies with existing systems and processes.
4. Project Management
* Manage and execute logistics engineering projects from concept through implementation.
* Collaborate with site and corporate leadership to ensure alignment with operational goals and timelines.
* Track and report progress, savings, and ROI of improvement initiatives.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
* Utilize data analytics tools to monitor performance metrics and identify trends.
* Develop dashboards and reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
6. Technical Skills
* Demonstrated ability to use AutoCad or similar tools to create accurate warehouse layouts, process flow diagrams, and spatial planning documents to support logistics and operational improvements.
* Experience in translating operational requirements into visual schematics for equipment placement, material flow, and automation integration.
* Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure drawings align with safety standards, ergonomic principles, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
Required:
A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science field- specifically, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry.
A minimum of 2 years of professional relevant experience in an R&D or Manufacturing environment.
Must be open to up to 25% travel
Preferred:
1 year or more experience working as an Engineer in an FDA or regulated industry environment preferred.
Experience with statistical design, analysis of experiments and modeling is preferred.
Product and process validation experience.
Other:

We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II, this position is responsible for developing, documenting and improving manufacturing processes.
Will represent the Collins Aerospace Jacksonville Blount Island facility MFG ENG Team during the pre-production build phases, through production phases and integration close out.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving resolution of all build-related issues.
This role works with the manufacturing teams, the product team/ technical specialist, test engineers and quality, engaging functions and members from across the domain to develop and implement a repeatable process.
The role consists of work broadly scoped including hardware, manufacturing, testing, lifting, packaging and validation.
This position is located at our Jacksonville Blount Island facility.
Relocation assistance will be provided

What You Will Do
* Designs and plans layout for assembly and materials handling.
* Plans and documents sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
* Provides guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
* Plans the sequence of operations for fabrication tools to ensure excellent product performance.
* Adapts machine and equipment designs to factory and production standards.
* Conducts detailed design work focused on the layout of assembly and materials handling operations.
* Improves production methods, driving waste from existing programs
* May assist in developing time and cost estimates.
* Work closely with Operations, EH&S, Quality, and others to create a safe, efficient work environment.
* Assume leadership responsibility for all build related issues.
* Track manufacturing related issues and ensure that owners provide timely and effective closure.
* Drive product quality improvements through process development and improvements with Level Two mistake proof implementation where possible.
Qualifications You Must Have
* Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of Composite Manufacturing Engineering with creation and optimization of composite manufacturing related procedures and processes or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
* Typically two years working experience with projects within an engineer/manufacturing Environment.
* Experience in writing standard work instructions/ SOPs.
Qualifications We Prefer
* Prior experience with fiberglass/carbon fiber/Rubber.
* Experience with mechanical fabrication/assembly.
* Experience with the design, layout, and troubleshooting of manufacturing cells.
* Process Improvement experience.
* Prior experience with ERP system (i.e SAP)
* Prior CAD experience (Solid work/Auto Cad) .

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
