The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative **Principal Industrial Engineer** at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of **Baltimore, Maryland (work on site) -** where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.
Northrop Grumman's ATL microelectronics facility is a unique high-mix production environment supporting semiconductor devices, RF/microwave assemblies, and advanced microelectronics packaging. **Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Systems Engineer:**
+ Bachelors in Operations Management, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems or any related operations degree with 5 years relevant industry experience; Masters with a minimum of 3 years' relevant industry experience; or PhD with 0+ years' experience.
+ Proficiency in data visualizations and reporting.
+ Basic understanding of microelectronics manufacturing techniques and processes.
+ Experience in forecasting, line balancing, and capacity modeling specifically in ramping/opening new production lines.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. What you'll be challenged to do:
As an Entry Level Industrial Engineer, you will support the planning, analysis, and design of bus and rail maintenance facilities. You will help evaluate maintenance processes, develop efficient shop layouts, and contribute to operations optimization. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative, functional, and sustainable solutions that improve transit maintenance operations and support modern transportation systems.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Identifying, analyzing, and documenting maintenance processes and flows for bus and rail maintenance facilities.
Developing maintenance shop layouts, focusing on spatial relationships and sizes (i.e. form, fit, and function of the maintenance shop area).
Operations analysis and optimization.
Writing reports on maintenance operations and programming requirements.
Selecting maintenance equipment and preparing specifications for the equipment.
Coordinating with other disciplines in the development of construction drawings and specifications.
Occasional travel (up to 25% of time, including overnight) for field work, meetings and presentations with transit clients.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a professional and productive manner.
Be willing to expand your skills and grow professionally.
Obtain PE or AIA licensure when available.
What you bring to our firm:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited program.
0-3 years of relevant experience in transportation, infrastructure, or facilities projects.
Demonstrated interest in transit and rail facilities or engineering through applied academic coursework, past internships, or related experiences.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment.
What we prefer you bring:
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER II, COMPOSITES
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II, Composites to be based at Rocket Lab's Space Structures Complex production facility in Middle River, MD. The Manufacturing Engineer II, Composites will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of composite manufacturing technologies and processes used in the production of the Neutron Launch Vehicle structure.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout definitions to the meet volume requirements including preparation of business cases
Develop production processes and ensure they are accurately and clearly documented, including testing procedures, health and safety requirements and supervisor sign-offs
Design, develop, and implement tooling and equipment for use in a production environment where required to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost requirements
Actively contribute to facility construction projects including requirements generation, design reviews and implementation support
Contribute to design reviews acting as an expert in design for manufacture, design for test, productivity, supplier capability assessments, quality control, etc.
Oversee introduction and implementation of new products and product revisions as related to the Neutron launch vehicle composite structure
Lead problem containment and structured root cause & corrective action investigations
Quickly analyze and resolve manufacturing discrepancies and non-conformances
Introduce automation where appropriate and ensure equipment data links directly to MRP and quality systems
Identify risks and improvements to develop the manufacturing engineering department to meet company needs
Develop and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians daily
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, or other technical degree.
2 + years of composite manufacturing experience.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
Working experience with capacity modeling, process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma and value stream mapping.
Experience with 3D CAD software and tooling design.
Experience in Automated Fiber Placement technology.
Experience both Autoclave and Out-of-Autoclave composite manufacturing techniques.
Experience with Non-Destructive Testing/Inspection of composite components.
Experience in qualification and acceptance testing of composite structural components.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
