As some standards apply to other functions (e.g., GO), significant and targeted collaboration within FMPA's Power Resources department is required to foster compliance success for the Agency as a whole.

Modeling experience (preferably 2-3 years) with PSSE, TARA, or equivalent platforms. Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
+ Surveys, designs, and implements physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians) conduits, patch panels, and butterfly diagrams.
+ Restores facilities to pre-install or better conditions.
+ Performs site surveys and documents current site ISP / OSP configurations.
+ Assists with design and optimizes supporting infrastructure in support of ISP / OSP, providing input to the SPRIP.
+ Supports the development of Preliminary and Final SPRIP and project drawings IAW USG and industry standards.
+ Implements physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with BICSI RCDD engineers / licensed electricians) conduits, patch panels, butterfly diagrams.
+ Restores facilities to pre-install or better conditions.
+ Performs quality checks, follows industry-standard, DoD, and DAF specifications and requirements.
+ Installs and inspects grounding.
+ Ensuring installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition.
+ Contributes input to the production of project deliverables, artifacts, and metrics when required.
+ Conducts systems pre-tests and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria.
+ Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
+ Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
+ Works under supervision of Site Project Manager or Network Plant Engineer SR but has capabilities to work independently on ISP / OSP tasks.
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
+ General user capabilities of Microsoft software applications required (primarily Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and Microsoft Teams or SharePoint).
+ Proficient with AutoCAD.
Working Environment:
Office environment with potential to support austere locations.

Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
+ Technical BA / BS Degree; Or
+ High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
+ (Preferred) BICSI certification
Experience / Skills:
+ 5 years with BA / BS Degree; Or
+ Minimum of 7 years of experience performing as a Network Plant Engineer supporting ISP / OSP solutions on large, complex networks with a High School or Associate Degree.
+ Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects.
Clearance Requirement:
+ This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements.
Work with Technicians to develop work instructions to clearly define manufacturing process, develop training materials, and train technicians in processes.
Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support composite parts manufacturing.
Preparation of detail design data packs including laminating books.
Develop and document processes for composite filament winding and hand layups.
Design of proper material handling, packaging, and labeling to protect and identify hardware throughout the build and test process.
Interaction with structural analysts to ensure performance objectives are met.
Provide hands-on engineering support to hardware prototype development and testing.
Directly support testing operations and efforts, gaining opportunities to influence designs, improve processes and increase reliability.
Engage with design engineers to review and approve part and tooling assemblies, updating, and offering input based on improved Design for Manufacturing (DfM) concepts or solutions.
Research and coordinate implementation of upgraded processes and designs to take advantage of new capabilities and technology advancements.
Continuous development of design methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline
4+ years' experience as a Manufacturing / Production / Process Engineer ideally for electromechanical systems
Sound working knowledge of composite design and manufacturing processes.
Practical experience with composite part production and testing.
Proven experience in an industrial environment for the delivery from concept to manufacture of high-performance composite components and assemblies.
Proficient user of CAD for composite design definition
Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel with changeable priorities.
Demonstratable experience for the development of multiple composite design solutions for a diverse set of applications.
Familiarity with industry standards and references (e.g., MIL-HDBK-5/17, ECSS-E-HB-32, NASA-STD-5001, GSFC-STD-7000)
Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
Familiarity with the requirements of engineering for the space environment
Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
