POSITION SUMMARY
Applying engineering and chemistry techniques, assists in the improvement of quality and manufacturing processes and products and in the transition of new products and processes from R&D to production. Assist in equipment and processes design to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and to promote safety, quality and reliability. Assess current equipment methods and processes and makes recommendations for changes. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and processes. Shows results in reports. Applies themselves in laboratory setting as needed follows good GMP. May train personnel in equipment and method usage and processes. Performs work under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Lab and New Product Development Support (50%)
Assist NPD projects as assigned and in compliance with Procedures, Programs, and Policies.
Execute Design of Experiments for Pilot Plant Scale-Up and Production Scale-Up.
Analyze Design of Experiment data compared to expectations and opportunities for improvement.
Data Analysis / Technical Management (20%)
Analyze product/process data identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Analyze product/process/quality data identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Analyze the production requirements of products and ensure JDE1 data are correct.
Ensure all operations and processes comply with ISO/QMS requirements.
Develop work instructions and provide training on new and improved equipment and processes.
Plant Support (15%):
Assist in identifying, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives which reduce waste and non-value added activities.
Assist with planning, developing and implementing quality and manufacturing process changes that yield improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE); production efficiencies, yields and rates.
Provide support on any production/product/quality issues as required.
Assist with evaluating equipment and process capabilities and make recommendations on equipment design and selection.

Pilot Plant (15%):
