This group is responsible for the development of cleaning process design supporting new product introduction in Amgen internal manufacturing network for both drug substance and drug product. The cleaning characterization group perform bench scale studies to enable introduction of new molecules manufacturing in Amgen Manufacturing network. The group supports investigation of deviations/non conformances, writes technical cleaning evaluation reports, and supports plant inspections, including Prior Approval Inspections (PAIs). Job Responsibilities: Design and perform planned laboratory experiments in assessment of new product cleaning with existing cleaning process. Help develop new methods, apparatus and procedures for bench-scale cleaning characterization work. Write technical reports, assessments, and procedures. Use characterization data to develop key operating parameters (KOPs), testing requirements and acceptance criteria for new product launches in manufacturing. The Quality Manager will lead the quality assurance and control functions for manufacturing operations at the Valencia site. This role will oversee the quality system, ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements (including ISO/AS standards), drive continuous improvement of quality processes, and lead a team of quality professionals. The Quality Manager reports to the Director of Operations or VP of Operations and works closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure that products meet or exceed customer and regulatory expectations. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve the site quality management system (QMS) consistent with standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and, where applicable, AS 9100 or other industry certifications. Lead and manage the quality team (inspectors, auditors, first-article, data-analysis) to ensure effective execution of quality assurance and control activities. Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process quality checks, first-article inspections, final inspections, audits, non-conformance management and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements; collaborate with Engineering/Manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and design for quality. Monitor key quality metrics (scrap, rework, defect rate, customer returns, on-time quality shipments), report to senior management and drive improvement programs. Lead root cause investigations for major quality failures, coordinate cross-functional corrective actions, validate their effectiveness and integrate learnings into the process. The Industrial Engineer II, Continuous Improvement is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
