What You Will Bring:

Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years of machine building, testing/debug experience and the following credentials/skills:

• Associates Degree from college or technical school or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years as a service technician or lead machine builder for automated machinery

• PLC experience (can read ladder logic and basic editing skills)

• Electrical (understands AC/DC Fundamentals)

• Must know how to read detailed 3D drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics

• Basic use of machine shop equipment (drill press, mill, grinder)

• Masters the use of basic hand tools and basic measuring equipment (calipers, micrometer, scales and gauges)

We are seeking a new

Engineering Technician to join our growing team. This role

is responsible for final assembly, testing/debug, field installation and service of custom automation machinery. You will also participate in customer product testing, demonstrations, technician education, and final quality control inspection of machinery prior to shipment. You will need to have the ability to travel up to 20% of the time to local and international customer sites.

As a member of the test department, you will work closely with engineering and production departments and report to our Test Manager.

The successful candidate must be able to operate, install, diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain all types of power generation and industrial engine/rental equipment in a fast paced environment and must be able to multi-task. The successful candidate must have good human relations skills and the personality to successfully communicate and problem solve with customers. Customer satisfaction is of primary consideration.
The essential functions of this position include the following:
- Independently and successfully diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel and gas engines, air compressors, pumps and heaters
-Reading schematics and diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical problems
- Installation and commissioning of new units including generators, UPS, switchgear, automatic transfer switches and other related system products. This could include first time start-up installations
- Coordinating with other systems being installed such as multiple generator sets and paralleling switchgear to ensure all related equipment works together properly as a system
-Understand electricity and electronics including AC and DC circuits along with basic power generation systems
-Performing both minor and major repairs to the engine, generator or components
- Utilize a laptop computer for information, time keeping and diagnostic purposes
- Prepare all part requisitions and service reports accurately with sufficient detail for service and accounting needs in a timely manner
-Provide accurate and detailed information to create repair estimates as required
-Monitor expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the office is aware of any cost overruns prior to job completion
- Understand the customer's needs and time constraints and completing scheduled repairs and service safely and within the time constraint identified while providing superior quality workmanship to meet and exceed the customer's expectations
-Cares for and maintains all company vehicles, machines, equipment and tooling and ensures co-workers are doing the same
- Perform work in various working conditions

As a Field Mechanic you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions.
Physical requirements include:
- Overall stamina
- Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
- Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
- Must have good motor coordination skills
- Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
- Verbal intelligence and numerical intelligence
- The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
- Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills and good interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience with diesel and/or gas engines, generators, switchgear is a plus
-Available to work rotating On Call as needed
Additional requirements include:
- Must have a clean driving record and a current driver's license
- Must meet DOT regulatory & Cleveland Brothers requirements for operating company or related vehicles
- Familiar with all DOT regulations and truck operations
- Must sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and company requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• This role must be viewed as operationally focused working closely with the Test and Quality Engineers and technicians in tandem with the Manufacturing Shift Lead to drive process optimization, improvement and execution to plan.
• The Induistrial Engineering technician shall support the Manufacturing Engineers and Machine Support Engineers coordinating day to day activities in support of the manufacturing plan.
• Display expert knowledge of the process equipment and machines.
• Drive efficiencies in current technical systems.
• Support the Engineering Manager in the evaluation and equipment needs for today and future needs.
• Undertake technology benchmarking and drive" best in class" engineering solutions.
• Agree clear performance metrics.
• Review performance metrics and progress continuously.
• Identify training / development needs on an ongoing basis.
• Agree individual development plans.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Team Performance Management:
• Drive a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the Induistrial Engineering technician function.
• Drive motivation levels within the Induistrial Engineering technician function.
• Support Business Development through assessing the needs of potential customers in conjunction with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Leads.
• Provide expert problem solving and customer focused support to individual businesses.

Proactively identify internal customer needs.
• Drive "internal customer focus" mindset within Engineering teams.
• Effectively cascade functional / business information and expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement in areas of cost, quality and delivery.
• Analyse and prioritise areas for Manufacturing Engineering improvement e.g. machine uptime, efficiency improvements.
• Create a continuous improvement culture throughout the Manufacturing Engineering team with proactive presence online focusing on key improvement areas.
• Create vehicle to support multi-disciplined teams at all organizational levels to drive proactive involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with engineering disciplines and manufacturing to establish service level agreements.
• Drive as key focus both the site and global objectives through Focus, commit deliver and Lean deployment.
• Attend and lead in key JOS meetings in particular TIC and QIC.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
