Industrial Hard Chrome company history timeline

1964

The first of several additions was undertaken in 1964.

1972

In 1972 the United States Environmental Protection Agency, through the Water Pollution Control Act, began to regulate industrial discharges.

1983

An important step forward was taken in 1983, with the introduction of Electroless Nickel Plating and a modern second-generation Ion Exchange Waste Water Treatment System.

1984

If you can find a copy, the June 1984 issue of Plating & Surface Finishing magazine contains an article by George Dubpernell (also a very important name in the development of chrome plating) entitled "A History of Chromium Plating". Good luck with your assignment.

1989

Growth was steady and sure: in 1989 a new, 5,000 square foot office building was constructed across the street from the production facility.

1991

Another expansion followed, in 1991, that provided an additional 6,000 square feet for plating facilities and expanded polishing, storage, and lunchroom areas.

2004

There is a rumor that in 2004 cyanide was banned in the US for chrome plating and this caused major flaking/adhesion issues.

2014

2014: That article, "A History of Chromium Plating" is currently available on-line at www.pfonline.com/articles/history-of-chromium-plating
