As Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) within our growing team, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to our projects and firm including assisting in day-to-day operations on the project site and managing safety. You will be on site during construction and will be responsible for the safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, and safety enforcement. Critical responsibilities include: Serve as SSHO reporting directly to the Construction Project Manager Carries out all activities in relation to the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the OH&S Management System complying with ISO 45001. Manage, implement, and enforce the accepted Safety Accident Prevention Plan Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution. Distribute a list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies. Write Safety proposals, interpret regulations, develop training, draft inspection standards and draft safety assessment tools. Ensure subcontractor compliance with CEG and site-specific safety standards, codes, regulations. Assist with the management of project schedules. Assist with site access, including all site visits and deliveries. Assist with identifying unknown risks, managing risk impact and how they will be addressed and mitigated. Assist in project and business development responsibilities during development and implementation. Collect field information and pictures as necessary. Perform other field or office duties as assigned. Required qualifications include but are not limited to: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or related field (preferred not required) Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and safety management required. Minimum 5 years of experience with construction, construction management, or on-site field work. A passion in the areas of energy efficiency, alternative energy, and sustainability.
