Key Responsibilities * Position will report to the Arizona campuses EHS lead responsible for operations in Arizona. Position will work closely with site management in RD&E and other EHS staff to drive environmental, safety and health programs, ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvement. * Ensures proper investigations of accident / incidents conducted for EH&S events and drives corrective actions. Act as liaison with regulatory authorities for safety requirements. * Track and trend EH&S related legislation and take appropriate action to comply with requirements. Communicates EH&S issues to all necessary management and employees. Generates necessary reports and documentation. Lead the investigation into accidents and provide feedback to relevant parties for corrective action. * Review and report EH&S progress and performance for assigned site/function. * Ensures compliance with required codes, standards, and regulations. Act as a liaison with local, regional, or federal regulatory authorities. Manage metrics and reporting. * Oversees accident / incident investigations and analyzes pertinent data. Documents results. * Performs a wide range of health and safety compliance duties including equipment and facility permitting, compliance auditing, management of change and chemical authorization approvals, record keeping and reporting, liaison with the local authorities. * Ensure environmental, health and safety programs and management systems are in place and effective to minimize the risks to employees, the environment and the community. Maintain communication channel with site/location functions. * Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding environmental, health and safety issues * Provide technical guidance on environmental, health and safety issues to the site manufacturing and engineering organizations and contribute to the development of site-wide EH&S standards and procedures. * Participate in the emergency response team and may involve after hours response. * Develops and conducts employee EH&S training. * Conduct onsite inspections (labs, auxiliary equipment pads, cleanroom, office, etc.) * Familiar with Benchmark Gensuite for incident management, site compliance and regulatory tracking. * Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required. Other Requirements This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room and other industrial spaces, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required. Physical Requirements: Must be able wear PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection, fall protection. Must be able to walk/stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs. Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (powered industrial trucks, building alarms). Must be able to rapidly respond to emergencies. Must be capable of assisting others during evacuations. Must be able to see/recognize and respond to dangerous situations. Key Responsibilities * Provide technical expertise to strengthen Radiation Safety and EHS programs, training, and SOPs. * Oversee radiation safety instrumentation and EHS equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance. * Investigate and document incidents, injuries, and compliance issues; recommend corrective actions. * Manage chemical inventory and waste processes, including radioactive, chemical, and biomedical materials. * Collaborate on EHS-related capital projects, budgets, and regulatory interactions. * Conduct audits, hazard assessments, and industrial hygiene evaluations to protect team members. * Deliver hands-on radiation protection training and emergency response drills. * Maintain compliance with NRC, DOT, EPA, OSHA, and NIOSH standards. * Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. What You Bring * Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Radiological Health, Occupational Health & Safety, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Physical/Biological Sciences, or Environmental Science. * Experience: Minimum 5 years in radiation safety or EHS auditing. * Strong knowledge of NRC Agreement State, DOT, EPA, and OSHA requirements. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills. * Ability to lead, train, and collaborate across diverse teams. * Valid driver's license and ability to travel to pharmacy locations. Overview We are seeking motivated energy and climate technology professionals to join our Industrial Decarbonization Intern Program in 2026. Successful candidates will support research, modeling, analysis, and writing tasks that help solve climate change through the management of physical CO2. This internship provides an opportunity to work on cutting-edge solutions for reducing and removing CO2 emissions, including clean fuels, carbon capture and storage, low-carbon building materials, and engineered carbon dioxide removal technologies. Our work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, and the role may involve occasional travel. We value flexibility, curiosity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A successful candidate is a self-starter who understands the fundamentals of low-carbon energy systems, stays informed about technological developments in climate and sustainability, and is eager to contribute to scalable and equitable climate solutions. Responsibilities: Conduct research, modeling, expert interviews, and data analysis to support industrial decarbonization projects. Assist in research, synthesis, writing, and preparation of presentation materials as directed by team members. Participate in collaborative problem-solving with project teams. Support internal communication and coordination across teams to achieve project goals. Develop and contribute to clear and compelling reports, briefs, and presentations summarizing analytical insights. Manage deadlines through effective time management and communication with mentors and project leads. Qualifications: Current graduate student (or recent college graduate) in engineering, chemistry, earth sciences, physics, environmental science, or a related field. Experience or coursework in one or more of the following: Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and/or Techno-Economic Assessments (TEA) Carbon markets (voluntary or compliance) and relevant standards Emissions mitigation strategies such as efficiency, electrification, carbon capture and storage, and fuel switching Engineered and hybrid carbon removal solutions ( e.g. , direct air capture, bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, mineralization) Industrial ecology or chemical engineering principles Electricity generation and grid decarbonization strategies Ability to synthesize findings from scientific and technical reports. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision when necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Excel and/or analytical software ( e.g. , R, GIS, Tableau) preferred.
