Aerotek industrial maintenance/electrician job description

Shift Tech- night shift- 6pm to 6am, OR 7pm - 7am -2-2-3 schedule.

Mechanics are called via radio or have planned work orders printed off to complete maintenance on machines.

They go to the machine/conveyor/oven and sometimes do the operator's job in order to troubleshoot and find out the problem (loose belt, something off the tracks, electrical malfunction etc).

Lots of work with machines that gauge Speed and Time and Temperature of bags.

Troubleshooting consists of plumbing, mechanical and electrical issues on machines.

Also have a Maintenance Supervisor role open, which would be a Monday thru Friday salaried position. Standard 7am-5pm shift.

Purpose of Position

To provide electrical / electronic maintenance, troubleshooting, and engineering support of production equipment, power distribution and utility systems.

Regular Duties / Responsibilities
1) Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic work. (Work on energized circuits is required.)
2) Perform project, modification and installation work as directed.
3) Perform electrical preventive, scheduled and corrective maintenance.
4) Fabricate / modify electrical operation and control enclosures for plant equipment.
5) Procure replacement / new supplies, and inventory and maintain electrical parts, tools, and stock materials which are related to the maintenance function.
6) Operate, modify and maintain the electrical power distribution systems. Includes facility lighting systems, power for receptacles, HVAC power and controls, and UPS power for computer systems.
7) Program, troubleshoot and utilize programmable controllers. Includes Rockwell PLC, PAC, PanelView, and other manufactuer types.
8) Review Preventive Maintenance records to monitor machine performance and identify areas for improvement.
9) Accurately record data for activity reports, work request /job cards, and other administrative reports and forms.

10) Adjustment and coordination of complex machine automation systems. Includes using instrumentation for linear and rotational speeds, tension and weight, product dimensions (such as diameter), and positioning. Perform calibration of components and systems to ensure adherence to product specifications.
11) Test equipment after repairs or modifications.
Periodic Duties / Responsibilities

1) Support Electrical Engineers within the Plant Engineering Department. Includes review of new or modified electrical schematic drawings prior to installation, troubleshooting to solve complex or difficult machine or process problems, and understanding of controls systems in use to manufacture fiber optic cable.
2) Provide technical support and assistance to Process Engineering and Production Personnel.
3) Design, build and implement electrical solutions to machine problems.
4) Coordinate and manage assigned projects, including direct supervision of outside contractors.
5) Review the work of outside contractors to insure compliance with all applicable policies and codes.
6) Perform Plant Safety audits to identify faulty equipment / systems.
7) Perform other duties as assigned.

Use and understanding of the following equipment is required:

Machine installation and construction experience is required.
Working Conditions
Work environment requires that individuals are exposed to any number of elements, including noise, heat, cold, fumes, dust, oil, etc.
Exposure to industrial chemicals is required on a daily basis.

Provide hands-on troubleshooting and repair of the electrical components for all equipment with as minimal of downtime as possible. Perform electrical preventive maintenance on all equipment as required. Ensure all safeguards of equipment are installed as needed to conform to governmental regulations. Collaborate with maintenance management, lead electricians, other peers to become familiar with electrical maintenance procedures and processes for all equipment supported by this position.
