Industrial Maintenance FULL-TIME
$23.15/hr
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Industrial Maintenance positions are responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of equipment to maintain continuous production. Applicants must be able to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be able to complete computerized training programs and use Tyson SAP software to document completion details of preventative maintenance routines as scheduled by the supervisor. Must be able to read and write where required. Must be able to use math as needed to make work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours. The applicant must be willing to complete all the required training for the job.

Shift start: 10:00PM
Shift length: 10 - 12 hours
4 day work week and 3 days off. Saturday and Sunday is a schedule work days.

Industrial Maintenance Role

Job Summary

This position requires prior maintenance experience and proficiency in Relay Logic, PLC controls, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Candidate will need to possess a high degree of technical skill and the ability to work on a wide variety of equipment. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a flexible schedule, extended work hours and weekends as needed. The ability to work at height is a requirement for this position.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

• Must be safety oriented with leadership skills to work with or without supervision in a team environment.
• Ability to diagnose and correct electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Fabrication skills required.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment plant-wide.
• Move and relocate machinery, install attachments, accessories and guards following proper safety protocols.
• Will be required to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.
• Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts and/or templates.
• Resides within reasonable commuting distance.
• Has current legal work authorization for employment within the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of maintenance experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting.
• Associates (two-year) degree in Industrial Maintenance or similar degree from an accredited institution.
• ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)--Gold Level

Principal Accountabilities

• Compliance with all safety and food safety, and HR programs, policies, and regulations

• Ability to work around and with raw meat

• Ability to work in cold temperatures (between 33-36 degrees)

• Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment

Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship

• Must be 18 years or older

• Ability to read, write, and speak English

• 2 years prior industrial maintenance experience or equivalent of technical degree
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

• Prior industrial meat industry work experience with a like competitor

• Prior work history in a production background that deals with speed and repetition

• Previous Cargill experience

• Work history in the past 12 months
