**Your Opportunity**

Stantec is seeking an **Industrial Water Process Engineer** to join our highly successful water practice in California.

+ Undertake Industrial Water/Wastewater system planning and design, consult with clients and other consultants.

+ Meet with clients, municipal officials, public, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions.

+ Prepare economic analysis for water and/or wastewater treatment projects. Prepare construction specifications, tender documents, and applications for approvals.

+ Write reports and design briefs to document analyses.

+ Participate in proposal management and prepare proposal content

+ Coordinate presentation and design drawings.

+ Construction / contract administration knowledge.

+ Manage project schedule and budget.

+ Manage the process for obtaining approvals from various agencies.

**Qualifications**

**Desired Skills and Experience**

+ Good understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of water and wastewater treatment engineering design (industrial and/or municipal) including process drawings and calculations, water quality (including chemical, physical, and biological parameters), and equipment selection.

+ General understanding of all phases of project document production, client procurement procedures, and regulatory approval processes.

+ Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

+ Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors, funding agencies and reviewing agencies; to deliver technical presentations in public forums in conferences and technical symposia.

+ Possess excellent time-management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and available resources.

+ Prepare proposal for projects - technical as well as budgetary

+ Ability to translate industrial process into clear diagrams

+ Team player and able to work well in a team environment without direct supervision

+ Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

+ Hard-working and positive attitude, open to mentoring junior engineers

+ Completion of a master's degree in Water/Wastewater Treatment considered an asset.

+ Relevant work experience in water/wastewater treatment projects is an asset

+ Understanding of local and regional jurisdictional codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.

+ Experience with chemical and process simulation modelling considered an asset (such as such as Fathom, ASPEN, BioWin, Membrane Modeling Software, etc.)

+ Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite and Adobe.

+ Experience with managing and delivering projects for private sector clients is a plus.

**Education and Experience**

+ Must have a bachelor's in chemical or Civil Engineering field.

+ Professional Engineer in California and ability to transfer from another states.

+ Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering analysis and design of water, wastewater systems.

+ Must be self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Job Description

Performs engineering duties associated with control and improvement of the Electron Beam (EB), Plasma Melt (PAM), and Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) processes. Position will work closely with senior staff, manufacturing and quality personnel as well as external customers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Provide quality support for EB, PAM, and VAR products including but not limited to melt releases, heat records, certification (release of product), and customer order reviews/approvals

Implement/monitor Statistical Process Control for critical product parameters (i.e. chemistry, weight)

Disposition non-conforming product and issue applicable corrective actions (CAR's) and submit applicable nonconformance reports (NCR's) to customers.

Initiate or support new melt process technologies

Participate in continual improvement projects to minimize deviant/nonconforming product. Support or lead continuous improvement initiatives and teams

Support or implement Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE) associated with melting

Assist with customer complaints, audits, and corrective actions, involving investigation of quality problems

Maintain quality documents including but not limited to procedures, forms, recipes, etc…

Participate in internal audit program

Experience & Education

Bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering related field or technical equivalent

2 or more years' industrial experience preferred.

On-the-job training will be provided, but position requires a self-motivated individual.

Required Skills

Familiarity with MS Office is required.

Metals industry experience is a plus.

Minitab or other statistical software experience is preferred.

Strong background on industry specifications is a plus.

Strong auditing background is a plus
