We are looking for a high energy dedicated teacher. This is an opportunity to enhance the student and teacher experience at Sylvan Learning Center. The LeadTeacher is responsible for monitoring and providing support to the instructional area, ensuring that teachers are practicing good instructional management. When Directors are unavailable or not in the Center, the LeadTeacher serves as the point-of-contact for teaching staff and manages Center operations, ensuring a high quality personal customer experience. The LeadTeacher communicates staff performance, customer issues, and student progress to the Center's Director(s). The LeadTeacher also delivers instruction as needed. This is an in person part time position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Observes and coaches instructional staff on a regular basis to ensure that teachers follow Sylvan's Instructional Management guidelines and deliver instructional sessions that are balanced and robust
Attends to immediate instructor needs, such as requests for materials or assistance with instruction
Assumes teacher responsibilities in emergency scheduling or capacity situations
Assists teachers with preparation for instruction; Gathers materials as appropriate
Observes and coaches teachers on a regular basis
Checks students in and out of the Center
Greets and assists students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards with particular attention to student safety and well-being
Opens and closes the Center according to procedures, securing all materials
Fields inquiry calls, takes payments, updates schedules, and books appointments for Directors
Makes outbound marketing or other calls
Escalates service or other issues that require Director intervention
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Four year degree or equivalent required
One to two years teaching experience preferred
Experience using Microsoft Office and other standard business applications used by the Center
Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones
Knowledge of tablet computers preferred

Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the part-time position of Assistant Teacher for the Child Development Center (PT). This is a 30 hour/per week position, (1290 hours per year) working 10 months out of the year (August through May). The responsibilities of the part-time assistant teacher include implementing and modeling learning experiences that foster social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative growth for the children in the Child Development Center while implementing a curriculum that is based upon the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards. The following benefits are available to part-time Classified employees. Employees working less than thirty hours a week (1560 hours per year) are ineligible for health and life insurance benefits, as well as an alternative retirement option.

Vacation:
Classified employees receive 2 weeks of vacation each year which begins accruing on the employee's first pay period. After five years of employment with Edison State the classified employee will receive 3 weeks each year, after ten years this increases to 3.5 weeks, after fifteen years of service they will receive 4 weeks of vacation, after twenty years they will receive 4.5 weeks and this once again increases to 5 weeks after twenty-five years of employment with the college.
Sick Leave:
Edison State employees receive 3 weeks of sick leave each year which begins accruing on the employees first pay period.
Holiday Pay:
At the start of their employment employees are eligible to receive pay for the 11 holidays for which the campus is closed.
Tuition Waiver:
Edison State employees receive 100% of their instructional fees waived for any Edison State courses they take.
Dependents (spouse or children) of full time Edison State employees receive the same 100% waiver for Edison State course instructional fees and dependents of part time employees receive a partial waiver.
Tuition Reimbursement:
Edison State offers partial tuition reimbursement for continued education.
Health Club Contribution:
Edison State will pay a portion of an employee's yearly premiums for a health club membership. Memberships to some local YMCA organizations can be payroll deducted.
The college also provides an on-site fitness center to employees, students and the community at no charge.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
A current CDA is required, an associate degree or higher in ECE or related field is preferred. Note* East Lorain requires an Associate in ECE or related field (Head Start Requirement)
Career Pathway Level in OCCRRA is at minimum Level 3. Note: At times, other levels may be permitted depending on staffing qualifications in the classroom.
Experience in a preschool classroom setting is required
Experience with Creative Curriculum preferred; strong familiarity with lesson planning incorporating all domains of the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards
Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
