Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Emergency Preparedness, the Director of Emerging Infectious Disease Preparedness is responsible for managing the emerging infectious disease and pandemic preparedness programs to include, but not limited to:

+ Development and maintenance of plans and policies

+ Employee outreach and education

+ Development and maintenance of response tools, resources, and training materials

Qualifications

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, Environmental Safety, or related field.

+ Experience working in Healthcare.

+ Expertise in aspects of epidemiology and infection prevention.

+ Expertise in emergency management, safety, or occupational health.

+ Experience in developing risk reduction strategies to improve safety of both patients and employees

+ Demonstrated project management skills to implement diverse and complex projects and events across large organizations.

**Position description**

Mayo Clinic is seeking a board certified academic infectious disease physician to join our practice in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is best suited to a physician-investigator who has established an independent and nationally recognized line of research, with preference given to translational studies that advance new avenues in molecular and cellular pathogenesis, design of diagnostics or development of novel therapeutics.

Evidence of research productivity with R-Series NIH funding or equivalent federal funding is highly desired to be a competitive candidate for this opportunity. The percentage of research and clinical time will be based on the candidate and the independent grant funding the physician may bring.

Additionally, the division is open to a variety of clinical sub-specialty background interests such as transplant, oncology, global medicine or musculoskeletal medicine.

The position will include an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. The Infectious Diseases division in Florida supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in infectious diseases poised for expansion and growth over the next 1-3 years.
