The Nurse (RN) Informatics assesses and analyzes patient care related data; assists with development of best practices and corresponding performance improvement projects; develops reports and provides feedback for process improvement and measurable clinical outcomes. Develops, implements and coordinates processes for medication management associated with BCMA. Oversees the E-prescribe application for regular and controlled substances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but not limited to the following)

* Reviews, extracts, compiles and analyzes patient care/services data from electronic health record, financial records, coding records, and other sources.

The Clinical Informatics Nurse, utilizing clinical nursing knowledge, participates in the planning, design, build, testing, training, and implementation of clinical applications utilized by Presbyterian Homes. Essential Functions:

+ Facilitation of and/or participation on organizational working groups assembled to focus on the transformation needs of the health care system in the implementation of clinical information systems.

+ Engagement of clinical, ancillary and physician leadership in the transformation process across the health care system and care settings (inpatient and outpatient).

+ Performs project management tasks as it pertains to improvement initiatives, analyzes user clinical information system requirements and departmental information flows, assuring needs are accommodated in system design.

+ Review all change requests submitted by the clinical and ancillary users for the development and improvement of the clinical information systems. Escalating requests to the appropriate clinical and IT working groups for further review, discussion, and approval.

+ Assist appropriate clinical, ancillary and physician resources in the review and modification of policies and procedures to assure alignment with regulatory guidelines. Ensure policies and procedures are developed and/or updated as necessary to coincide with the implementation of new clinical information systems functionality.

+ Facilitate or participate in the development of required reports needed for Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI), Compliance, and regulatory management of the data in the clinical information systems.

Skills/Qualifications:

+ Registered Nurse with a minimum of 7-10 years clinical experience required. Previous clinical informatics experience in post-acute care/long-term care preferred.

+ Master's degree in Nursing preferred. Experience with developing, implementing and/or supporting clinical information systems desirable

+ Proven problem-solving skills essential

+ Demonstration of solid and effective written, interpersonal, oral and presentation skills. Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants

+ Capable of working well in a diverse team environment and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teams. Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times during normal and pressure situations

+ Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications (especially Excel)
