We are currently searching for a Privacy Office and Release of Information Assistant to work with Health and Information Services Department.
The Privacy Office and Release of Information Assistant answers incoming telephone calls and corresponds with physician offices, rehabilitation coordinators, insurance companies, attorneys, patients, etc. requesting patient record information. They work with all departments as needed to coordinate medical information requests.
The responsibility of this role includes:
* Maintains a current and accurate correspondence log of requests received and disability forms completed.
* Documents all requests and phone calls in the EMR. Provides electronic updates regarding the status of form completion.
* Processes correspondence, FMLA, insurance and disability forms.
* Reviews and processes requests for medical record information following established procedures, requesting prepayment for information when appropriate.
* Invoices and processes checks for completion of forms and release of information.
* Scans appropriate information into the electronic health record.
