DEFINITION OF POSITION
:

The Analyst will possess advanced skills to: support Epic HIS applications; perform a wide variety of duties including but not limited to analysis, design, build, testing, documentation, training, implementation, report writing, and daily user support; interpret functional/operational specifications of existing and new products; determine and accommodate the impact of various system changes on users, automated or manual, troubleshoot various problems and respond to user department needs; interact with all level of users throughout the organization to clarify and verify requirements at all stages of analysis, design, and implementation; support 3rd party applications; ensure that all systems are fully tested before implementation into production; document and describe process and procedures relating to current and future systems environments; and train and educate core teams and super users on system functionality and capability.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Applies in-depth knowledge of functional aspects of clinical application systems to design complex nursing and other clinical workflows in collaboration with vendors, technical peers, and clinical operations staff. Actively engages with clinical leaders, staff, and providers to bridge their clinical needs with current and future technology solutions. Provides analysis of operational workflows to ensure design objectives are consistent with clinical care delivery, and accurate and reliable data collection and abstraction. Under general supervision, formulates and defines system functionality and objectives through research and fact-finding to support the development, configuration, or support of information systems. Prepares specifications, analyzes, and revises existing system logic and creates documentation, as necessary. Ideal candidates will demonstrate history of clear, successful, and professional written and verbal communications with customers and peers, systems thinking, and problem solving. Able to coordinate multi-application project deliverables on a timeline. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Good Shepherd Health Care System. Excellent organizational skills and management of multiple projects, strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with physicians, clinicians, vendors, end users and/or other hospital employees. Required to take night and weekend (remote) call on a rotating schedule.


QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION: Associate Degree minimum in a related field (Nursing, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, etc.) or may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience. BSN/MSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least 2-3 years relevant computer information systems and software applications experience working in a hospital clinical department (i.e. Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy) and/or medical group specialty (i.e. Family or Internal medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, etc.) with significant exposure to and knowledge of that area's operating policies and procedures. Experience with EpicCare Inpatient, ASAP, OpTime applications desired with proven Epic build, support and implementation experience a plus. The successful candidate will also demonstrate proficiency in supporting non-HIS applications, office automation tools, and reporting software.

The Health Information System (HIS) Analyst is responsible for supporting the application and integration of the health information system in the organization. This position will serve as a liaison between the IT, HIS departments, and operations to align system design with operational processes. This includes data collection, workflow analysis, system configuration, testing, and support. This role also supports all interfaces to the application, working closely with third-party vendors, IT, and operations to ensure appropriate functioning of each interface. The HIS Analyst participates in application deployment and procedure documentation. This individual ensures that the software build meets organizational goals and external mandates such as HIPAA and Meaningful Use. The HIS Analyst promotes standards and healthcare practices that are in compliance with the rules and regulations as they are set by the states in which the company operates.
Essential Functions:

Maintain a working knowledge of the data schema for company files.
Monitor system effectiveness and/or performance to determine if there are any potential problems, report critical findings to peers and/or manager and resolve somewhat complex problems.
Develop and maintain test scripts to reflect proposed workflow solutions. Review and test changes, interfaces, data conversion, enhancements, and each new release as assigned.
Write queries and creates reports to provide data to business units.
Create standard operating procedures to ensure consistency of recurring reports.
Perform statistical data analysis and interpret data results to distinguish patterns and recognize trends.
Manage stakeholder expectations by analyzing expectations and requirements.
Identify project issues and risks and resolve or escalate as appropriate.
Support the training team by keeping trainers abreast of new functionality and system changes.
Provide assigned on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades.
Resolve or triage support calls as applicable.
Participate in disaster recovery initiatives.

Requirements

Educational / Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in clinical, revenue cycle or other healthcare related field. Two years' experience working with health information systems.

Qualifications / Skills:

Possess working knowledge of product features, functionality, and utilization of the application software. Current knowledge of regulatory standards and the impact on business operations. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Demonstrate an understanding of the need for discretion of all confidential and ePHI (Electronic Protected Health Information) HIPAA regulations. Obtain and maintain system certifications, if applicable.
Willingness to be on call 24/7 when scheduled. Willingness to travel to remote sites as applicable.
Demonstrate ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Demonstrate effective problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.

Work Enviroment:

Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Overview



Position Summary:
The Foundation Info Systems Analyst is responsible for developing and writing report specifications, fulfilling data and report requests (including mailing lists, KPIs and metric dashboards), and conducting analysis. The Foundation Info Systems Analyst will serve as one of the resources for the fulfillment of reporting, data integration and data analysis/metrics. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Strategic Information & Analytics team, stakeholders within the Foundation team, and enterprise Information Services to deliver accurate data lists, reports, and dashboards to improve fundraising operations efficiencies, build solutions, and provide insights to meet the needs of the Foundation. Ensures best practices are met while maintaining compliance of CHLA Policy and Procedures, Foundation Guidelines and State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to constituents, donors, and donations. The Foundation Info Systems Analyst will work independently on complex projects and research and will make recommendations for solutions to challenges and technical issues. This position reports to the Director I, Strategic Information & Analytics and is responsible for meeting the metric targets for the department as set by the Senior Vice President.


Minimum Qualifications
: 5+ years of professional experience. Experience working in a Philanthropy/Foundation/nonprofit organization. Knowledge of fundraising operations best practices within healthcare or higher education. Previous experience with relation databases for the collection, reporting, and dissemination of data. Experience working with online solutions and importing/exporting tools using multiple data sources. Blackbaud CRM or Raiser's Edge experience, preferred. Luminate Online experience, preferred, SQL required. Power BI or Tableau experience, required. Project management and organizational skills, required. Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with Foundation and hospital staff. Excellent verbal and written skills; independent judgment and follow-through. Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously. Strong computer skills and thorough knowledge of constituent relationship management databases.


Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
