Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, IT Security Operations. This is a full-time summer internship for summer 2026 and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Security Operations Intern will assist higher level specialists in cybersecurity measures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities.
Perform security incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifying the specific vulnerability; and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
Work on various Information Security projects and initiatives.
Perform user account clean-up.
Perform Security platform clean-up, including intrusion detection tuning, asset list validation, etc..
Build reports, dashboards, alerts, and automation in SIEM tools.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.

Upon graduation, each intern will present their project to their manager, mentors and members of senior leadership.
Interns will spend the remainder of their time receiving additional on-the-job experience and classroom learning. Classes will feature topics from general business etiquette to resume writing, interviewing and presenting with confidence.
In keeping with Our Philosophy, the program will also feature a community service component. Interns are based at our Company headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining and monitoring IT infrastructure systems including servers, networks, and storage
Support IT team in hardware deployments, software installations, and troubleshooting activities
Participate in infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements
Help document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

What will you do?
Under general direction creates or updates training (e.g., User Guides, training objectives, Agendas) for Information Technology (IT) Training using Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Assists supervisor & Technology-Based Training Developers, or other IT Staff, with coordinating business review sessions, requirements gathering & business or process analysis.
Analyze, design, develop or modify existing training material(s).
Under direction of ITS leadership &/or other IT staff, use multiple tools & techniques including Photoshop, PowerPoint, & Word for various learning activities.
Prepares documentation of computer & human resource factors for new learning, recommends appropriate hardware & software to higher level authorities.
Develops system flowcharts & detailed program specifications, structures & procedures including system test procedures to
determine validity & reliability. Writes complete system documentation.
The candidate may also work with the DODD IT staff to prepare documentation as needed; or assist in data review/data entry activities.
Attends meetings & takes notes when manager is not available.
Performs other duties as assigned within scope of internship.
Rate of pay is based upon student's academic status
This position is year round (this position is NOT limited to a semester)

Capable of working independently or alongside a team while traveling.
Comfortable with a dynamic schedule that includes out-of-state travel, overnight stays, and varying project timelines.
Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Installer
Clean driving record.
18 years of age or older.
Proficient with hand and power tools.
Not afraid of heights (comfortable working with lifts, ladders, rooftops, etc.).
Scissor lift and bucket truck experience preferred but not required.
Prior experience installing a variety of signs and graphics is a plus.
Must Haves
Experience with sign installations or a strong handyman/construction background.
