STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Help Desk Technician's role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.
Full-time, benefited position working 80 hours per two week pay period. Days of work are Monday - Friday with no nights, weekends or holidays unless there is an urgent situation.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner.
Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.
Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
Install anti-virus software.
Performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.
Develop help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: (PC/HELP DESK TECHNICIAN)
PREPARATION AND TRAINING - Associate degree required in Computer Science or Management of Information Systems or related field required.
WORK EXPERIENCE - Two (2) years of experience in user support and training of appropriate software. Knowledge of basic computer hardware. Experience with desktop and server operating systems. Extensive application support experience. Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities.

Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled

Job Description
The IT Desktop Support Specialist's primary role is to ensure proper
computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This
includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user
help requests and application support. Problem resolution may involve the use
of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the
individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. Candidate may be
required to interact with other members of the IT Team to diagnose and resolve
unique problems. At times, the candidate may be asked to assist in the
maintenance and testing of network, servers and/or associated equipment. Training will be given to employees trainingis 7:00 am to 3:30 pm for ten consecutive days.
Qualifications
Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:
Deliver service and support to
end-users using and operating automated call distribution phone software,
via remote connection or over the Internet;
Gather customer's information and
determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms;
Diagnose and resolve technical
hardware and software issues involving internet connectivity, email
clients, and more.
Follow standard processes and
procedures;
Redirect problems to appropriate
resource;
Accurately process and record call
transactions using a computer and designated tracking software;
Organize ideas and communicate
oral messages appropriate to listeners and situations;
Stay current with system
information, changes and updates
Skill and Knowledge Qualifications:

Computer Field Technician Position
doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position,
you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware.
Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.
Qualifications
Must have prior hands on experience with replacing components on laptops and desktops
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be comfortable with daily local travel
