They repair and maintain electrical and electronic systems ranging from radar and communications to navigation and weapon systems. AV Sailors may also volunteer as Naval Aircrewmen, performing in-flight duties and operating radar and weapon systems. Responsibilities Depending on your rating (AE or AT), you may: Troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft systems, including digital computers, fiber optics, infrared detection, radar, and laser electronics.
