Key Responsibilities
General Computer & Technology Support
* Answer software and hardware support calls for office-based and remote users.
* Install, update, and configure software on networked and individual PCs (Windows/Mac), as well as mobile devices.
* Set up, install, and troubleshoot new hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
* Deploy and maintain new computers, imaging devices as needed using company standard processes.
* Research, investigate, and order approved computer products under supervision.
* Contact vendors for support and warranty service, as necessary.
* Design and update spreadsheets and simple databases for internal use.
* Provide basic onboarding, training, and user instruction on common company systems.
* Participate in testing and basic analysis of computer systems, programs, and user-reported issues.
* Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, assets, or inventory.
Data Privacy & Security Support (including HIPAA):
* Support compliance with privacy practices, including those related to HIPAA or other relevant data regulations.
* Participate in HIPAA or company-led data security training as required by role.
* Maintain and update documentation related to PHI (Protected Health Information) and other sensitive data requirements.
* Assist with security and compliance audits as requested.
Teamwork & Communication
* Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, end-users, and vendors.
* Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
* Exhibit a positive attitude reflective of Interstates' values and commitment to service.
Education and/or Experience:
* Must be currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management InformationSystems, or a closely related field.
* Basic technical experience-such as coursework, academic projects, or part-time employment/internships in IT support-is preferred but not required.
* Strong interest in technology and troubleshooting; eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $19/hr - $21/hr. Our compensation ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.

The IT Technician Intern assists in developing new software, maintaining existing systems or providing technical support to employees and customers.

The IT Technician Intern will provide support for a variety of technology solutions.

Work Requirements:
This position is based in a fast-paced office setting. Equipment utilized will be computer, phone, fax, copy machine and other standard office equipment. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8 to 5.
While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds frequently. The physicality of this job is low.
