Ascentec Engineering is hiring an HVAC Systems Specialist to join our team in
Dallas, Oregon.
The selected candidate will lead the comprehensive evaluation, correction, and rebuild of an existing commercial HVAC system experiencing long-term performance issues. This role is a fixed-term (12-month), medical/dental/vision benefits eligible, full-time position embedded within the maintenance team and is responsible for diagnosing systemic failures, implementing corrective solutions, and establishing long-term reliability and maintainability of the building's heating and cooling systems.
This position requires a senior-level HVAC professional capable of working independently, coordinating with external vendors, and providing technical leadership throughout the rebuild effort.
This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) at our
Dallas, Oregon
facility and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct a full assessment of existing HVAC systems, including equipment, controls, ductwork, airflow, and distribution
Identify root causes of heating, cooling, and comfort issues across the facility
Develop and execute corrective action plans, including system repairs, upgrades, and replacements
Lead HVAC rebuild and optimization efforts to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to maintenance personnel
Coordinate and oversee external HVAC contractors and specialty vendors as required
Support HVAC troubleshooting and repairs while maintaining focus on rebuild objectives
Ensure all HVAC work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements
Develop system documentation, including as-built drawings, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance plans
Assist in establishing long-term maintenance strategies to sustain system performance beyond the 12-month contract term
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of eight years of experience in commercial HVAC systems
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with complex HVAC systems
Experience with HVAC controls, automation systems, and related components
EPA Universal Certification
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
HVAC system design, retrofit, or commissioning experience
Project management or lead technician experience
Experience working within an in-house facilities or maintenance environment
Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and load calculations
OSHA safety training or equivalent
Physical & Work Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops, and work in mechanical spaces
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot and cold environments

An IT Administrator Senior will provide enterprise support; plan, design, maintain, and implement services within a specified technical discipline. **About the Role**
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Enterprise Architect-Data to join our Enterprise Architecture team, reporting to the VP of Enterprise Architecture. This role is a critical partner to our Business and Application architects, responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide data strategy, particularly in the context of a dynamic, M&A-driven environment. The successful candidate will design a scalable, secure, and resilient data ecosystem that transforms data into a trusted enterprise asset. You will be responsible for aligning the company's data architecture with its overall business strategy, ensuring that data is leveraged effectively to drive analytics, insights, and power AI-driven outcomes.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the architectural design and strategy to ensure all enterprise data is treated as a unified asset. This involves creating a seamless consolidation and rationalization strategy that applies to all major data-centric initiatives, whether they are driven by M&A or by the development of new internal applications and services.
- Partner with application development teams to provide data-centric design insights into core business applications, ensuring the data layers are designed for scalability, quality, and analytical use from the outset.
- Analyze and document the current-state data landscape, including data sources, lineage, storage, and consumption patterns to identify gaps, redundancies, and modernization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, data flow diagrams, and integration patterns in alignment with industry standards.
- Collaborate with business leaders, data scientists, and engineering teams to define strategic goals and translate them into data, analytics, and AI requirements.
- Design and govern the target-state enterprise data architecture, incorporating modern patterns such as Medallion Architecture and principles of Data Mesh. This includes standards for the data warehouse, data lake, streaming platforms, master data management (MDM), and the platforms and patterns that support our AI/ML initiatives.
- Develop and govern the enterprise API strategy for data, defining standards for REST APIs and managing data access for internal and external applications through an API Gateway.
- Design and govern 'Reverse ETL' patterns that deliver analytics and AI-driven insights back into operational systems (e.g., Salesforce, Eloqua, D365).
- Incorporate FinOps principles into all data architecture designs, ensuring solutions are optimized for cost-effectiveness by leveraging BigQuery best practices (e.g., partitioning, clustering), appropriate storage tiers, and efficient compute.
- Partner with product managers, solution architects, and business architects to ensure data solutions are designed for scalability, performance, and security while meeting business needs.
- Define and enforce enterprise-wide data governance standards, including data quality, metadata management, data security, and data privacy in partnership with the Enterprise Data and Analytics Office (EDAO).
- Evaluate data-related requirements to assist in selecting the right data technologies, platforms, and tools that support a scalable, future-ready data ecosystem.
- Contribute to enterprise transformation initiatives by providing data-architecture-driven insights and strategic guidance on how to best leverage data assets.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with stakeholders to align on data definitions, standards, and architectural principles.
- Utilize predefined frameworks and templates effectively, ensuring all data architecture artifacts are maintained and regularly updated.
**About You**
**Basic Qualifications**
- 15-20 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, data management, or a related senior-level role.
- Proven, hands-on experience leading data platform consolidation and integration initiatives following corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- Deep, hands-on expertise with the Google Cloud data stack is essential, including extensive experience with BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Vertex AI, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run.
- Demonstrated experience designing data integration and Reverse ETL patterns for major enterprise SaaS platforms, specifically Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), and Oracle Eloqua.
- Hands-on experience with both traditional enterprise ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) and modern data engineering languages and libraries (e.g., Python, Spark).
- Hands-on experience with API design and management, including designing REST APIs and using API Gateways (e.g., Google Apigee, Kong) to secure and manage data access for both internal and external applications.
- Deep understanding of both modern data architecture patterns (e.g., Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh) and traditional dimensional modeling techniques (e.g., Kimball, Star Schema).
- Proven experience designing data architectures that support and enable advanced AI applications, including machine learning pipelines and integrations for Agentic AI.
- Experience designing, contributing to, or implementing an enterprise Data Marketplace or Data Catalog.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing robust data quality frameworks (e.g., setting up DQ monitoring, defining validation rules) and data security controls (e.g., data encryption, PII masking, column-level security) within a cloud data platform.

Department Summary
The mission of the Shared Services InformationTechnology (IT) group focuses on customer service combined with technology and process competency. The services we provide include: IT strategy, business continuity, disaster recovery consultation, system/data backup/recovery, hardware lifecycle management/procurement, consultation for unit software/hardware needs, desktop support, system and software support, project management for software implementation and upgrades, decision support and reporting, communication with Information Services, liaison with other University service providers, and printing/printing contract management.
Administrative Services oversees multiple business hubs and Shared Service organizations throughout the University. Located within the Finance and Administration portfolio, the objective of the division is to provide efficient, strategic and specialized administrative services to support the missions of various departments, schools and colleges at the University of Oregon. Administrative Services focuses on supporting department-specific budget, finance, payroll, human resource and procure-to-pay functions; as well as specialized physical security technologies. Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to support the information, data, systems administration and networking needs of the customers of Finance and Administration Shared Services IT - primarily, the University of Oregon Police Department (UOPD), Utilities & Energy (UE), and Finance and Administration Shared Services (FASS).
Responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance of systems, applications and local area networks across multiple campus locations, provisioning and maintaining servers, workstations, and mobile devices, installing and configuring software, providing formal training for new hardware and software, contacting hardware and software vendors for information and preparing proposals and technical reports for new computer system acquisitions, and providing technical support and assistance for a wide variety of systems.
Interactions/contacts occur daily with students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors in the course of performing work. A supervisor typically assigns the incumbent work individually or indirectly when they are a member of a team. Decisions are most often made within established guidelines, but they may be made regarding the best method and materials necessary to perform a particular task. They may also include setting priorities, assessing customer needs and responding to those needs.
The Operating System/Network Analyst (OSNA) will not directly supervise other employees, though will on occasion be required to organize and coordinate the work of internal and 3rd-party resources to complete projects or fix problems.
The OSNA works as a member of a team and tasks are assigned by a supervisor, team lead, or undertaken using individual initiative and prioritization. Decisions are made within broad parameters, including the best method and materials necessary to perform a particular task. They include setting priorities, assessing customer needs and responding to those needs. The position will participate in both formal and informal procurement and other decision-making activity with financial implications. The position will have no budget authority. As an Operating Systems/Network Analyst, the person in this position is expected to remain current with new software and hardware technologies in a constantly growing environment. The position will be responsible for following guidelines and standards developed by FASS IT, University Information Systems, Utilities & Energy, UOPD, and Oregon Department of public safety standards and Training (DPSST).
This position will report to the Director of FASS IT. Work is reviewed regularly by the Director of FASS IT as well as the FASS IT team lead..
Work Schedule
Typical daytime hours with occasional after-hours and week-end work. This position will be included in the 24/7 on-call rotation within FASS IT.
On-Call Rotation
This position will be required to serve on-call duties on a rotational basis after learning critical systems. This may include responding to emergencies during off hours, including weekends and holidays. On site, response to campus is expected within 60 minutes from the time of the call, if needed. Communication is via a cellular phone, using text or voice modes.
Minimum Requirements
This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge in operating systems programs, maintenance, systems administration, and network systems that would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, engineering mathematics, telecommunications or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and/or experience.
Special Requirements: *Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to advance.
• Must successfully pass an in-depth law enforcement background check.
• Must submit fingerprints to obtain a FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) security clearance.
• Must complete and maintain Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification.
• Must complete and maintain Level 4 CJIS Security Awareness Training.
