Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (Operating Systems/Systems Administration):
Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining information systems support; operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining various servers, databases, and hardware and software systems; and assisting implementation of firewall and internet proxy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

This is a highly skilled technical position within the Support Services team of a multinational-office law firm, which leads the application support efforts for the US. The IT/Tech Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, security, and support of the agency's technology infrastructure. Acting as the primary liaison between the agency and its managed service providers, this onsite role oversees daily IT functions including system administration, technical support, asset management, and user access. The IT/Tech Specialist collaborates with internal leadership to develop IT policies, recommends solutions to improve system performance, and ensures compliance with security protocols.
