The software support team troubleshoots both software and hardware issues. Job Functions:
With guidance perform QA functions for any issue resolution from support calls.
With guidance track and thoroughly document all customer issues in our ticketing system.
As issues are reported from customers diagnose if the issue is a change or a bug then communicate issues to the analyst, development staff, or sales consultant appropriately.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as you will be interacting with various developers, analysts and project managers.
Facilitate positive proactive working relationships with customers and internal resources.
Performs visits to customer sites to perform any preventative maintenance that can increase the stability and control of the Exacta software (Proprietary Software)
Participation in an on call and/or escalation rotation.
Handles escalations or consultations from application support specialist.
Develop Reports using Crystal Management and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Create datasets to analyze and recreate issues reported by customers.
Ability to look through database log files to troubleshoot software issues.
Implement and improve remote monitoring tools for our customer's systems.
Demonstrate superior customer service (as measured by our customers: surveys and satisfaction from support renewals).
Ability to work with specialist and provide feedback and/or guidance to resolve an issue.
Ensure escalated issues are recorded in knowledgebase.
Travel Requirements:
15% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Solutions)
Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required, degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and various Databases (SQL Server and Oracle). Classroom experience with Databases OK
Minimum one year of experience troubleshooting Exacta as a Specialist II.
Excellent customer service skills. Remain positive and calm under pressure.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The System Administrator I focuses on execution, customer service, monitoring, and maintenance of core infrastructure components under direct supervision. This role is crucial for immediate support and maintaining system stability through routine operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
User Support & Service: Provide outstanding, professional, and courteous customer service. Monitor and provide support utilizing the service request (ticketing) system to resolve Level 1 and Level 2 issues promptly.
System Maintenance: Perform routine system health checks, monitor logs, and verify resource utilization for physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers.
Core Administration: Assist in basic system and application software installation, configuration, and documentation updates.
Identity Management: Perform essential tasks within the Active Directory and Azure Active Directory environment, including creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts, groups, and basic permissions.
Security Execution: Assist with deploying and verifying security patches and updates (patch management) and ensure compliance with established Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) policies.
Data Integrity: Execute backup and restore procedures as directed, verify successful completion, and escalate issues as needed.
Storage & BCDR: With guidance, assist with the administration and maintenance of modern storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS, or HCI). Assist and perform complex business continuity and disaster recovery operations, including advanced backup configurations and failover testing.
Documentation: Maintain current documentation for administered servers, processes, and resolved incidents.
On-Call: Participate in scheduled and unscheduled off-hours maintenance and system upgrades as needed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Technology Research: Research, evaluate, and recommend new hardware, software, and services to improve efficiency, security, or performance.
Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and improve existing IT processes and procedures.
System Upgrades/Rollouts: Participate in and lead minor technology projects, such as client-side software rollouts or specific server migrations, under the direction of IT leadership.
Asset Management: Assist with maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets, including tracking lifecycle and managing disposal of obsolete equipment.
Knowledge Base Contribution: Develop and maintain internal and external-facing knowledge base articles, tutorials, and frequently asked questions (FAQs).

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Certifications & Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, OR 1-3 years related experience.
Preferred: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Sec+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
Receive: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate within 12 months.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Operating Systems: Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
Networking: Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting tools.
Scripting: Basic familiarity with PowerShell or Python for administrative tasks and automation.
Virtualization: Basic understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
Service Delivery: Proficiency with enterprise ticketing systems and a strong commitment to service excellence.

As a Electrical Engineer, on the Power Systems Studies group you will work directly with some of the world's largest technology companies and other mission-critical clients. You will serve as an electrical engineer on projects, design calculations, write technical reports, and prepare documents. Experience in performing short circuit analysis and producing arc flash studies is required. You will also coordinate with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, and clients. You may travel to job sites for observation and attend client meetings.
