    Job Purpose: The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer II is a highly skilled technical expert responsible for managing and enhancing the company's hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This position works independently and proactively on all aspects of infrastructure and cloud services, serving as the technical backbone of the IT team. The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer II designs and implements infrastructure solutions that ensure reliability, security, and scalability of the company's IT environment. This role reports to the Director of IT and plays a key part in executing critical infrastructure projects, supporting core systems, and assisting with higher-level and overflow end-user support tasks as needed. Essential Duties Responsibilities: Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure, including on-premises Windows Server environments and cloud-based virtual machines. Ensure the uptime, performance, and scalability of servers, networks, and cloud services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning. Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V) and network components to support a secure and high-performing infrastructure. Project Leadership & Implementation: Lead or co-lead infrastructure and cloud projects from planning through execution, including system migrations, cloud adoption initiatives, and enterprise technology rollouts. Coordinate with the IT team and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope, implementing new systems and upgrades that improve IT capabilities. Travel to other company sites as required (especially during acquisitions or critical deployments) to deploy infrastructure, integrate systems, and ensure smooth IT transitions. Systems Administration & Support: Administer Windows servers, Microsoft 365 services, identity services, mobile device management tools, and enterprise platforms to ensure consistency and compliance with best practices. Deploy, configure, and support new IT equipment, including staging and rollout of devices from the primary location in Gainesville. Provide Tier II support for complex systems and assist with overflow or escalated end-user support tasks when needed. Security & Compliance: Participate in IT security operations, including the integration and configuration of security tools and platforms. Assist with the implementation and management of security monitoring, incident response, and remediation activities. Apply regular updates, patches, and configurations to infrastructure systems to maintain compliance and mitigate vulnerabilities. Minimum Qualifications: 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and cloud environment management (servers, virtualization, networking, and cloud services). Strong knowledge of the Microsoft cloud stack - including Azure administration, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune for device management. In-depth experience with Windows Server operating systems, virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V), and core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, drive projects to completion, and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect, Microsoft 365, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or similar) are a plus but not required. Familiarity with ITIL, ITSM, and ITAM principles and best practices are a plus but not required. Working Conditions Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis, operating office machines and handling light materials and supplies. Normal exposure to an office environment; occasional exposure to a warehouse or light industrial environment. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. May spend extended periods operating a desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity, and communicating face-to-face, on the telephone, and in writing.
