The Director of Finance & IT will have responsibility for all aspects of the finance team and financial and business systems. This position in partnership with the Business Unit GM will provide leadership to the business's management teams in support of IDEX initiatives and its strategy to maximize the combined strengths of its Business Unit to provide better solutions, expand margins, and generate strong cash flow.

This individual will develop, direct, and maintain a financial reporting/internal control system for the company that provides management with the appropriate financial and operating information and decision support. They will develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of growth, profitability, liquidity, operational excellence, and other criteria that directly reflect the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. The Director mentors' staff and develops talent to support the growing needs of the company.

This key member of the leadership team will influence the long-term direction and growth of the business by their ability to effectively analyze and redirect its resources through accounting and financial reporting that meet or exceed the requirements of its internal and external customers.

Our business is a $18M+ growth-oriented business unit located in Phoenix, AZ. The position will have 3 direct reports and reports directly to the Energy VP of Finance & IT.
Responsibilities for this position include:

Provides operational finance support to the Business Unit GM and Senior leadership team. Contribute to business strategy development and operational execution of business plans that drive growth. Direct the regular financial processes for the Business Unit including closing the books, forecasting, planning, and the reporting and analysis of results. Ensures all compliance with legally mandated external financial reporting including the Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements. Audit the operations for compliance to corporate and business unit policies and procedures. Prepares analyses of financial statement results, including cost trends, customer profitability, product profitability and variance analysis. Analyzes operating results to determine and recommend profit and/or cash flow improvement opportunities. Perform special analyses to support strategic business decision making - this can include financial analysis in support of capital investments, changing business models, pricing models, make vs. buy, etc. Evaluate, approve and/or recommend course of action on capital spending and investment requests. Provide leadership with emphasis on developing top finance talent. Work alongside the Corporate Finance organization (i.e., treasury, tax, and audit) in improving financial processes, implementing policy changes, and executing strategies and initiatives.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's degree level in a relevant field (Finance or Accounting) Equivalent of CPA and/or MBA preferred At least 7 years of relevant experience in financial and manufacturing accounting Cost accounting experience is required Experience in a process focused organization (80/20, Lean, Business Systems) The position requires knowledge of U.S. GAAP and manufacturing / financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, and business operations in a growth-oriented environment MRP Experience, preferably JD Edwards Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
