This is a doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. Job Details:
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Purpose of Classification
Performs technical work in support of assigned IT programs or communications function. Essential Functions

Information technology internship job in Edinburg, TX
To advise and provide consultation to computer users on various skill levels regarding the effective use of computer resources. Responsible for providing routine information to faculty, staff, students, and various other groups regarding computers and their usage.
Description of Duties
* Consults with users on the use of computers and provide solutions in resolving routine computer related problems.
* Provides routine computer services to all departments and other groups.
* Installs, maintains, repairs, and provides support for computer hardware and software.
* Performs or assists in performing the analysis, development, and testing of systems and procedures.
* Performs service calls, either on-site or by telephone, on computers for problem solving and trouble shooting.
* Performs or assists in performing the preparation of training literature and materials and the training or classroom lecture of staff, faculty, and/or students.
* Researches, reviews and recommends computer products, services and trends to support user short and long term planning and purchases.
* Installs and maintains computer networks.
* Keeps up to date on new and developing technology.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received
General supervision from assigned supervisor.
Supervision Given
Generally none, but in some departments may supervise clerical, direct wage or work study employees.
Required Education
60 hours of undergraduate course work including 12 hours in information systems or computer science/MIS. Equivalent work experience in performing the stated duties may be substituted on a 1-on-1 basis.
Preferred Education
Associates Degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Two (2) years experience relating to computer hardware/software or four (4) years of related experience without required coursework.
Preferred Experience
The above required experience acquired in the university environment.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment, use of computer hardware, software and applications.
Preferred: Knowledge of various third party applications and computer networking systems, their components, functions and capabilities.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Indoor office environment. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Other
Must be able to move between buildings to perform on site service. Works with electronic equipment, necessitating normal caution and safety procedures. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, climb ladders and stairs to install and maintain equipment and cables.

Team Description & Purpose of Role: The IT 1st line Engineer is responsible for Global end-user support and maintenance of various desktop/infrastructure related systems and processes including Windows domains and phone systems and devices. Job Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to users via ticket system, phone calls, chat, emails and covering hardware and software products
* Troubleshooting, imaging, install, maintain, upgrade, and configure company-wide systems and programs as needed to support the needs of the organization
* Provision equipment (laptops, desktops, accessories, etc.) for new hires, and configuring equipment.
* Manage user and computer accounts Active Directory, Email, AutoPilot, O365, VPN.
* Work closely with the Networking team to resolve various network connectivity issues
* Understand about ITIL or similar methodology will be considered as advantage
* Miscellaneous IT related tasks, assigned as needed by manager
Experience Required:
* Windows 11 / MacBook OS and Microsoft product 1st line troubleshooting
* Knowledge and interest at least in one of the following areas: Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, Office 365, End-user OS (Windows & Mac),
* Good Network skills - TCP IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, Routing etc.
* Strong command of English language, written and spoken
* Strong hardware knowledge of PCs, laptops etc.
* Strong configuration knowledge of MS Office, Laptops and Desktops
* Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
