Southland IT is hiring a Desktop Support Specialist for its Sacramento office, which supports approximately 40 onsite users. This role is part of a 15-person IT support team that serves over 5,000 users nationwide across 24 offices and hundreds of job sites. While the primary focus is providing hands-on technical support at the local level, the position also provides day to day remote tech support to all 5000 users. Primary Responsibilities * Provides desktop (local office) and remote IT support (all locations) * Provides support via walk-up, phone, chat, or email. * Resolves all first and second level support requests * Documents incidents and problems in Zendesk (moving to Fresh Service) and escalates issues to the appropriate teams when required. * Serves as the technical liaison to all users company wide, able to resolve technical issues within the desktop computing environment. * Trains users on how to use hardware and software where necessary. * When down time, which is rare, documents new procedures and processes within technician knowledgebase. About the role: The Computational Biology group at 10x Genomics is looking for an outstanding intern to work with us in the summer of 2026 for our Xenium product. This person will investigate and develop approaches on Few-Shot Learning for adapting a pre-trained cell segmentation model to a much wider range of cell morphologies, using only a very limited amount of annotated samples. They will work closely with our imaging and assay-development teams to push the state-of-the-art in spatial transcriptomics. The intern will be involved in selecting, implementing, testing, and optimizing models for the purpose of few shot learning, rapidly prototyping methods for internal experiments and early R&D. Interns will work on a mix of “real-world” product features that will ship to customers soon, and longer-term exploratory proof-of-concept work to test new ideas. About Aviation Electronics, Electrical, and Computer Systems Technicians (AV) work with some of the most advanced aircraft systems in the world. They repair and maintain electrical and electronic systems ranging from radar and communications to navigation and weapon systems. About Our Team Sandia/California's Thermal/Fluid Science and Engineering Department is a multidisciplinary group of engineers and researchers who specialize in fluid mechanics and heat and mass transfer. The work mix in the group includes developing theory and models, performing scientific and high-performance computing, and executing applied engineering analysis for a range of experiments and mechanical designs. The group plays two primary roles in science-based engineering at Sandia: (1) developing new computational methods, capabilities, and tools to describe fluid mechanics and heat transfer; (2) performing computational analysis to predict the design performance of engineered systems in defense, energy, and industry applications. Recent activities within the group include heat transfer modeling, porous media reacting flow modeling, multi-phase flow modeling, battery modeling, hydrogen storage and safety technology, fluid dynamics modeling, combustion and heat transfer modeling, turbulent heat transfer simulation, and applied uncertainty quantification to all of these application areas. Sandia/California's Mechanics of Materials Department performs experimental and analytical studies to understand the mechanical behavior of materials.
