The Role

Assist and perform installation of machine control systems including, but not limited to GCS9000, Trimble Earthworks, CAT Accugrade, CAT Grade, Trimble and Spectral Laser Systems, Pacing Control systems and other attachments as needed.
Train and support customers in the use of machine control, site positioning, intelligent compaction, and paving control systems and office software with the intent to get customer self-sufficient in these areas.
Receive first call from customers in designated region and see that timely service is provided; utilize other Service and Support Specialist if needed to best meet the needs of the customer if required
Support Technology Sales Representatives and customers to ensure proper technology solutions are selected, sold, and trained on and utilized properly to achieve targeted benefits.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and ensure customers are getting the maximum ROI through support, training and after sales follow-up.
Support paving and other specialty professional services for customers; these services will need to be scheduled and prepared for by SITECH to provide the best results
Maintain responsibility for vehicles, demo inventory, computer, and/or any other company assets entrusted to you to perform your job duties.
Escalate any unresolved issues in an effective and time efficient manner to the proper associates
Research common problems identified with machine guidance systems and determine required corrective outcomes as and when required
Work directly with Trimble and SITECH support staff along with associates of heavy equipment OEMs staff on matters of sales, support and other field activities
Maintain responsibility for all company assets issued to you. This includes, but not limited to, demo equipment, field service equipment, vehicles, computers, and paperwork

Engineering & Computer Science Summer 2026 Internships
Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is responsible for the design, operation, and maintenance of the infrastructure required to test flight, defense, and aerospace systems in the ground test facilities at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, Tennessee. This infrastructure includes equipment such as electric motors, compressors, hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems, heaters, dryers, power systems, measurement and data acquisition systems, control systems, and more. We do not design or conduct analysis of the vehicles; we design, operate, and maintain the systems which enable ground test of models and subassemblies to provide our customers with the data they need to make decisions on design and flight-worthiness.
The Beyond New Horizons internship program offers 10-12 week full-time summer opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in various engineering and computer science related disciplines. As part of the internship, you are paired with experienced engineers and scientists who serve as your mentor(s) in completing real engineering or technical work gaining valuable experience in your field of study while contributing to Air Force and contractor missions. You will be required to present a briefing to management demonstrating what you learned and accomplished throughout the summer.
Our internship is structured such that you are assigned multiple tasks to complete throughout the summer to provide exposure to the variety of types of work assignments available here at AEDC. These are real engineering/technical assignments that need to be completed, not busy work to keep you occupied.
Minimum requirements for consideration:

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a degree in one of the following disciplines:
Mechanical Engineering
