Contech Control Services is seeking team-oriented professionals who have proven knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) configuration, graphics, and logic programming of industrial control systems, along with experience in field commissioning, and instrument troubleshooting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Control System Specialist performs a wide range of duties, including the following:
Responsible for design, specification, selection, configuration, and testing services related to control systems, including PLC, HMI, serial interface, and networking in accordance with client and/or Contech Control Services standards
Plan, budget, organize, and control an important segment of automation projects
May be responsible to assist with control philosophy and/or functional descriptions
Communicate progress to project manager for inclusion into reports to client
Responsible for quality of the control system portion of the project
Field commissioning and troubleshooting of the entire system
May be required to respond to client requests for troubleshooting of control systems and field instrumentation.
Seek opportunities for additional work from existing and new clients.
Maintain a focus on safety by adhering to all Contech Control Servies, client and industry safety standards.
Requirements:
The Control System Specialist requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
BS or AES degree in Engineering is preferred
10+ years of control system engineering experience related to Allen-Bradley PLCs, Allen-Bradley PanelView, and Wonderware are required
Ability to troubleshoot issues with field instrumentation.
Ability to use instrument configuration tools (Field Communicator 475, TREX, etc.)
Configuration experience with other PLC, HMI, DCS, or SIS systems is a plus
Demonstrated experience in technical execution on both FEL/FEED and EPC projects in the chemical and petrochemical industry
PE license is a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft software products is required

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT DOES AN IT DESKTOP SUPPORT DO?
This position provides basic technical on-site and remote support including diagnosis of user problems related to specific supported hardware, software, and networking services provided by the IT department.
