As part of your onboarding, you will be certified in Dell and Lenovo. All certifications are free to you. Job Details This is a 1099 Contract position. Call volume varies but is typically between 2-5 calls per day. Pay is based on the number of calls completed. Pay starts at $35 per ticket. You will be completing hardware part replacements for Dell and Lenovo warranty services. Pay period -every Friday after the first week of completing tickets. You must have a reliable form of transportation to run these calls. You must have access to a computer and the internet to log onto your portal. Tickets are run Monday through Friday. You must be able to log into your tech portal every workday by 9 am to accept, code (update status), and map out your calls. Who We Want: We are seeking motivated self-starters who enjoy formulating elegant solutions to difficult problems. To be successful in this position, a candidate will ask lots of questions, be a strong proponent of continuous change, pay attention to detail and take initiative to identify current problems and find a way to solve them. Extra points for background knowledge in Linux, numerical modeling and simulation, and computational cluster support. Previous Projects: Setup a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster Automate offline third-party application updates for Corvid's classified networks Develop binary installers for in house module deployment/configuration R&D high availability for BeeGFS, Corvid's current HPC storage solution Construct HPC pods & racks to extend Corvid's primary supercomputer Assist technicians with the maintenance and configuration of our HPC's water circuit, power circuit, PDUs, CDUs, and HVAC equipment Required Qualifications: Pursuing a BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar) Minimum GPA: 3.5 Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance Strong desire and ability to learn Good communicator with strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills Ability to thrive in an extremely fast paced environment Preferred Qualifications: Object-oriented programming experience Experience in scripting/automation Experience submitting jobs to a scheduled cluster Why Corvid?
