Perform IMACD activities within SLA's - PC and peripheral add move change
Provide excellent verbal and written communication to end-users regarding their productivity issues. This communication also needs to be provided to IT and in English (Mandatory).
Must demonstrate the ability to interact with end-users of all levels using a variety of active listening and empathetic listening skills.
Proven ability to communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical end-users both verbally as well as written.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION This is a full-time, 12-week internship from May 18 to August 7, 2026. Summer interns typically work from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday - approximately 40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Junior or senior undergraduate students majoring in Information Technology/Management, Computer Science and/or other IT related fields will be considered for this internship.
COMPENSATION: $22 per hour.
LOCATION: On-site at our office in Omaha, Nebraska. This is not a remote opportunity.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The IT Service Center ("ITSC") intern will work with team members as the first point of contact for customers requiring technical support via phone and self-service. They will be responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining desktop, laptop computers, smart phones, printers, associated peripherals, and solving user technology issues. The ITSC intern will work closely with other members of the technology department to support all end users (locally and remote). This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of technical resources, self-research, and asking other team members for guidance. The ITSC intern may need to interact with customers in-person and provide hands-on help at the service desk/desktop level. An excellent ITSC intern must have a good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technical products. They must be able to understand customers' problems and communicate and resolve issues effectively. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with a wide variety of customers.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical hardware and software issues assigned to them.
Troubleshoot general Microsoft Windows and Office issues.
Research solutions using available information and resources.
Follow standard Service Desk procedures by logging all service desk interactions via telephone, customer walk-ins and documenting all IT ticket work using the Service Now ticketing system.
Direct unresolved issues to the proper tiers of technical support.
Set up new computers, hardware and software for new employees.
Shadow all areas of IT to strengthen general IT foundation.
Attend team and departmental meetings to stay informed of current events.
Study new technologies when time allows.
Participate and assist in minor technology projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

This innovation-focused internship gives participants hands-on exposure to Ameritas' technology ecosystem through a 12-month program that applies AI and the software development lifecycle to create business-driven solutions, spanning analysis, development, testing, security, and data engineering. Able to fulfill a year-round commitment - part-time during the academic school year and full-time during the summer
