The IT Specialist is a staff position within the Information Technology Department that will work within a team culture of incredible customer service while equipping staff with technology solutions and training them to use those solutions to the best of their ability. The IT Specialist will assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the IT environment and with all aspects of end user technical support including hardware and software. The IT Specialist will be a key player in supporting the Church Management System (ChMS) by providing basic training and escalating support requests as needed. The IT Specialist will also manage the Help Desk System, effectively communicate updates to staff and resolve support requests promptly.
Duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Five or more years in a Help Desk or Technical role with troubleshooting experience and proven day to day operational skills. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior church experience desired.
Technical certification is desirable such as MCP, MCSA, MCITP or MCSE (Microsoft), A+ (computer hardware), CompTIA+, Apple Certification, CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, etc.

Monday - Friday with occasional work other days depending on work/project load at our Tysons location.
Will be required to travel in the DC Metro area to other MBC Locations.

Inform customers of their IT options and the associated benefits and limitations.
Provide expert technical support to customers having varying levels of computing skills

The Contractor shall partner with customers to ensure program quality and relevance.
The Contractor shall apply a variety of presentation and elicitation techniques to deliver a course, or segments of a course.
The Contractor shall process classroom experiences using tools such as surveys and hands-on exercises to gain feedback and to ensure that learning points are made and students are able to apply the learning to the job.
The Contractor shall coordinate training classes, including the scheduling of instructors, facilities, and materials.
The Contractor shall assist in the procurement of materials for delivery of training programs or activities.
