THE POSITION:
Medical Information is a critically important customer-facing function that supports the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical company products by providing timely, scientifically balanced, evidence based, nonpromotional information in response to unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers. Medical Information also plays an important role in post-marketing handling of adverse events and product complaints. As part of the Medical Information Contact Center (MICC) team, this position delivers industry-leading services, which include Contact Center staffing for responding to product information requests, identifying and handling of adverse events and/or product quality issues, and medical writing as needed to generate written response for use in response to medical questions received. The Engineering department at PracticeTek is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling our SaaS platform to meet the needs of thousands of healthcare providers. Working closely with Product and Design teams, Engineering ensures the seamless delivery of performant, secure, and cost-effective software solutions.
The Engineering team is responsible for the foundational infrastructure, security, and reliability functions that support all PracticeTek products and staff. This includes cloud architecture, observability, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements like HIPAA and PCI. We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our Engineering department at PracticeTek. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure that powers our SaaS platform for thousands of healthcare providers. You'll ensure reliability, security, and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support innovation and scalability across the organization.
Support the internal workforce by managing and maintaining Microsoft systems and tools, including Microsoft 365, Teams, and Azure AD, ensuring seamless collaboration and productivity.
Automate routine workflows and administrative processes to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Partner with external technology vendors and service providers to ensure smooth integration, support, and performance of business-critical systems.

Manage, monitor, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in a cloud-based environment.
Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows server administration, networking, and security best practices.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch).
Experience responding to SOC alerts, Microsoft Defender incidents, and using SIEM tooling
Familiarity with compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2) and implementation of security controls.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.

The Fine Print (That Really Matters)
At PracticeTek, we determine compensation by considering market data, internal equity, and each candidate's skills and experience. For this position, we reasonably expect to pay between [85,000-100,000]. This role is also eligible for benefits, including health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, and may be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or equity, as applicable.

Requirements
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an IT administrative discipline plus three years of related IT experience. High school diploma, related IT certifications, and four years IT related work experience may be substituted for the degree.
Solid understanding of workstation/laptop hardware and operating systems software (including but not limited to Windows and Mac Operating Systems).
Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships are essential.
Experience with IBM AIX operating system and/or SMA OpCon job scheduling software a plus, but not required.
Will be required to work some evenings or weekends.
The ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds in weight.
