Responsibilities
As an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC), you may:
Maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment.
Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, mainframe computers, large screen displays, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems used in weapons systems.
Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface ships.
Work Environment
ETs and FCs serve on fleet units worldwide and at shore-based repair facilities. Expect assignments aboard ships, at remote stations, and in technical repair shops. Work is highly technical, requiring precision and teamwork.

The ALLEMO is a multipurpose laboratory that integrates a range of laser-based and plasma-based technologies to facilitate aerodynamic and aero-optic research and development. The ALLEMO facility employs laser and electromagnetic concepts to understand high-speed aerodynamics, laser propagation, long-range detection of trace hazardous gases, plasma-based methods for flow control, guiding of electromagnetic and laser radiation, and advanced energy conversion methods. Responsibilities:
- Plans and conducts engineering research requiring independent judgement in the selection, and minor adaptation and modification of standard engineering and scientific techniques.

Performs advanced network work. Work involves coordinating activities associated with a local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN), Internet and intranet systems, and other data networks; coordinating network design and installation, training, monitoring, and analysis of existing hardware and software; evaluating potential network enhancements; and supervising the work of others. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A. Determines operations, technical, and support requirements for highly complex, comprehensive, and analog video surveillance systems; directs the installation and maintenance of supporting video surveillance hardware and software; and analyzes system procedures and other technology resources to ensure attainment of established performance goals.
B. Performs project planning tasks to include project risk assessments, alternative implementation analyses, and project status tracking and reporting.
C. Provides input into the preparation of budget recommendations; evaluates technologies for potential acquisition; monitors and reports on operation effectiveness and user support statistics; and makes recommendations for improvement and implements corrective action and appropriate control measures.
D. Provides training in methods that ensure effective and efficient work performance and compliance with established computing protocols and standards; provides user support training in the use of available hardware, software, and utilities; trains support staff in the installation, testing, and maintenance of video surveillance hardware and software and the application of vendor updates to software; and communicates with vendors, users, management, and technical staff.
E. Supervises the work of others.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education, Experience, and Training
1. Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required five years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.
2. Five years full-time, wage-earning experience with automated data processing systems in the installation or management of computers, servers, video surveillance systems, communication network devices, or the utilization of office automations software in highly complex WAN or LAN networked environment.
3. Three years full-time, wage-earning experience in the supervision of employees.
4. Project coordination experience preferred.
5. Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA) Network certification preferred.
* Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure as it is defined by state law.
B. Knowledge and Skills
1. Knowledge of network facilities and data processing techniques and equipment, personal computer hardware and software, network operating systems, security software, and performance monitoring and capacity management tools as they relate to video surveillance systems.
2. Knowledge of video surveillance infrastructure, hardware, software, technologies, design, and implementation strategies.
3. Knowledge of personal computer or surveillance video-related hardware, software, network operating systems, and security software.

6. Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.

Job Description
Training/Base pay rate of $17.00 per hour. The Base rate increases by .50 upon sixty days of employment.
We have a Guaranteed Hourly Rate of $20.00 per hour upon completion of training through your first 9 months. This allows time to build your bonus and commission skills.
If your post-training base rate, plus bonuses and commission don't bring you to the Guaranteed Hourly Rate, we will increase your pay.
However, the earning potential is much higher!
Schedule: 2 days off during the week; during slower season enjoy a four-on, three-off schedule.
Bonus Opportunity: Earn a Trained and Active Bonus of $500.00, paid in two installments: $250.00 at 60 days of employment and $250.00 at 6 months.
