The modern rail system was developed in England in 1820, progressing to steam locomotives.

When you consider the limited forms of transportation, communication and weaponry that armies had access to before 1850, the scale of historical warfare is impressive.

Automobiles based on internal combustion engine were first patented by Jean Lenoir of France in 1860.

1877

Earlier, an unmanned helicopter powered by a steam engine was developed in 1877 by Enrico Forlanini.

In 1880, electric trains and the trams were developed.

The first gasoline powered automobile was developed by Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz in 1885.

1891

In 1891, William Morrison introduced electric powered automobiles in the US, which were an improvement over the steam engines.

In 1893, the first automobile for sale was made by Charles and J. Frank Duryea in Springfield, Massachusetts in the United States.

1902

The Wright Brothers were the first to develop a sustained and powered aircraft in 1902.

1903

Henry Ford introduced the Model T Ford in 1903, which was successfully launched.

In 1906, the first car was developed with an internal combustion engine.

1908

Mass production of the Model T, priced in the range of $825 to $17000, started in 1908.

1923

In 1923, Alfred Sloan became the president of General Motors.

1976

Transport Services began with one man and one trailer in 1976.

Transport Services first opened our doors for business in 1976, buying, selling and repairing semi-trailers.

1980

The company's first physical location, a single rented room in the upstairs of an attorney's office, opened in 1980 in Strongsville, OH.

1982

As the business grew in 1982, Transport Services set up operations on the West-side of Cleveland, Ohio, adding short-term rentals, representing new trailer manufacturers, and launching the parts division.

1985

By 1985, Transport Services had grown and another move was made to Brunswick, Ohio.

2004

The company made the decision to partner with Cheetah Chassis in 2004 to meet the growing demand for new chassis.

2006

In 2006 an additional four service bays were added to the shop to accommodate the growth of the Service Division, expanding the number of service bays to 12.

2011

The addition of the Toledo drop location in 2011 met a growing need from our Northern Ohio/Southern Michigan customers to have access to inventory that was nearby and available for 24/7 pick-up.

2012

Adam Therrien was appointed President on January 1st, 2012, marking the transition to a second generation company.

2013

Transport Services partnered with Hyundai Translead in 2013 to sell and lease new Hyundai equipment, handle warranty claims, and sell genuine parts at discounted prices.

2014

In 2014 Transport Services joined the Aurora Parts and Service Network as an authorized parts distributor and service provider.

To meet the growing demand for fleet maintenance, Transport Services expanded the company’s service capabilities through the addition of a Mobile Service fleet in 2014.

2016

In 2016 a building was built on the property to accommodate the need to change tires on our rapidly growing lease/rental fleet regardless of the weather.

Transport Services was recognized as the 2016 Dealer of the Year by Aurora Parts and Service Network.

2017

The company’s largest expansion was completed in 2017 with the addition of four new service bays, a 10,000 sq-ft parts warehouse, a workout facility,men’s and women’s locker rooms, outdoor patio, and new offices and lobbies for the Service, Lease-Rental, and Parts Divisions.

2018
