Responsibilities
Manages the activities of one or more moderate to large, short to mid-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes
Exercises considerable latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverable
Decides appropriate methods, procedures for new projects with significant independence
Engages with all levels of management and acts as a key consultant for both functional and business issues
Facilitates project execution, administration, correspondence, and flow of information/data
Analyzes and determines regulatory impacts and requirements of the project
Identifies deviations in the project plan, identifies issues and leads the efforts to bring to resolution without compromising the original project goals, budget and timing; Ensures project parameters meet the agreed-upon needs and expectations
Forecasts project resources, materials and contracts costs within standard tools; Analyzes policies and procedures and provides next step recommendations as needed
Assesses project risk and develops contingency plans, identifies and communicates lessons learned and best practices; Follows effective project governance and reporting, in-line with SCE's project management standards in order to steward ongoing assigned projects
Maintains progress reports, conducts change impact assessments, and uses project management tools; Maintains a system to measure the effectiveness of the project development process
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience in project management.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
Experience working in construction, physical security, and related fields.
Project management training and certification (PMP preferred).
Six Sigma certification(s).
Proficient ability to read and interpret construction and MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) drawings.
Experience maintaining multi-million dollar project budgets and developing financial forecasts.
Seven years or more of experience leading major construction projects.
Five years of contract management experience.
Five years of supervisory experience.
Experience with OSHA safety.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. Job Description
The Project Manager position is responsible for the delivery of Control Systems for the Power Generation Industry. These projects include design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning. Solutions include Distributed Control Systems, PLCs, and Excitation (SEE/SFC) systems. Equipment to be controlled includes Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, HRSGs, and Generators.
The successful candidate will directly support the Manager of Project Execution and will have responsibility for the profit/loss, schedule performance, and customer satisfaction of the projects assigned. The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and complete projects according to deadlines and within budget
Requirements
· Define and track scope, schedule, budgets, risks and deliverables.
· Delegate tasks, and effectively communicate with team members.
· Report project financial status regularly to management.
· Generate change order requests.
· Select and procure the services of Electrical Contractors for installation.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
· 3 to 5 years of successful Project Management experience with complex control/electrical systems projects for external customers. Must be external customer-facing experience.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong leadership, technical, oral, and written communication skills; presentation skills
· Travel required: 5%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
· Experience with DCS or PLCs is a plus.
· Experience with SFC/SEE (Thyripol, WDR, RG3) is a plus.
· Technical/Commercial knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP) is a plus.
· Cybersecurity/NERC CIP knowledge is a plus.
· PM Certification, PMP Certification, or IPMA certification highly desirable.

The Turbine/Generator Project Manager provides project management of turbine generator and auxiliary systems maintenance, including modifications, upgrades, installations, maintenance during the preparation for and execution of plant outages. The project manager ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, meeting high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining the Turbine/Generator Long Range Plan.
Leading and managing turbine generator projects, coordinating internal and external resources, while ensuring project deliverables are achieved safely within the approved scope, cost, and schedule.
Leading the project from requirements definition through implementation, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
Reviewing complex project and contract budgets for adequacy, completeness, and other requirements. Identifying and developing solutions to items that may impact project schedule or cost and addressing with responsible parties
Analyzing project status, revising the scope, schedule, or budget when necessary to ensure that project requirements can be met

Key Accountabilities
•Management and oversight of vendor contracts; acting as the Owner's Representative.•Delivery of projects within cost and schedule constraints involving multiple vendors and coordination of a variety of internal work.•Providing a high level of customer service, continuous day-to-day support of peers/groups and proactive involvement with the leadership team, fellow peers and customers.•Providing oversight of consultants and contractors to ensure policies/procedures are followed and standards are met, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards. •Focusing on continuous improvement and providing leadership on initiatives and projects.•Drive project team adherence to pre-outage and outage work management milestones.•Demonstrated troubleshooting ability to identify issues, assess alternatives and risks, and implement solutions while keeping overall project on track.•Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.•Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers•Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.•Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.•Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
•High school or secondary school diploma with 8 years' experience OR a bachelor's degree or higher with five years' experience •5-8 years of project management experience, preferably with steam turbine projects, and experience in construction management or the power generation industry are beneficial. •Four years' experience at a commercial nuclear power plant (preferred).•PMP or IPMA certification is desired; will be required within 2 years of becoming the Project Manager.•A strong understanding of steam turbine design, assembly, repair, and auxiliary systems is necessary. Knowledge of turbine thermodynamics and relevant industry standards is also helpful.•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc..), ERP systems (like SAP or Maximo), and other relevant software is needed.•Essential skills include leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal abilities. The ability to multitask and work effectively in a matrix structure is also important.•Strong written and oral/verbal communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations to management.•The ability to access all areas of a customer site, including confined spaces and heights, is required. •The work environment involves both office and field settings, including power plants. There may be exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and vibrations.•Some travel is required for meetings, site visits, and project execution/evaluation.
