About the Role As an Infrastructure Platform Engineer at Fieldguide, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to design, build, and deliver a cutting‑edge foundation for our product teams in a dynamic, cloud‑based environment. You'll collaborate closely with our talented product developers to craft and maintain the optimal cloud infrastructure, finding the balance between performance, resilience, and cost‑effectiveness. You'll be at the forefront of emerging technologies, overseeing our production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic approach to system health to ensure top‑notch quality, security, and reliability. Your role will also encompass providing primary operational support and engineering expertise for our distributed software applications across the entire Fieldguide environment. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain core platform infrastructure to support scalable, reliable, and secure services across engineering teams. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to ensure consistent, reliable environments. Collaborate with software and data engineering teams to provide self‑service infrastructure and platform tooling that accelerates development workflows. Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and cost efficiency through metrics, logging, and alerting frameworks (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch). Ensure infrastructure security and compliance by implementing best practices for identity management, network segmentation, secrets handling, and vulnerability management. Contribute to incident response and postmortem processes, driving root cause analysis and long‑term improvements. Mentor and collaborate with other engineers, fostering a culture of reliability, automation, and continuous improvement. Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring high availability and resilience of critical systems. Document infrastructure design, architecture decisions, and operational procedures for transparency and team enablement. Who You Are You have extensive hands‑on experience in constructing complex cloud solutions using multiple AWS services. You are skilled in provisioning and configuring cloud services using Terraform and the AWS CLI / API. You have proficiency in designing effective monitoring/alerting and log aggregation solutions using tools like Datadog and AWS CloudWatch (New Relic, Prometheus/Grafana, etc.). You have a solid understanding of data systems, including both SQL and NoSQL. You have experience in developing and maintaining software in security and regulatory compliance environments (SOC 2, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, etc.). You are comfortable in participating in on‑call support to ensure 24/7 availability of services. You have a passion for mentoring and coaching other engineers. You have excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple competing priorities in a rapidly evolving environment. Bonus Points You have experience with GraphQL as a database front‑end API. You have experience with database system architecture (e.g., Postgres) and observability, to help us increase our overall database performance. You have experience both working with AI, and with providing it as a tool for engineers and our internal applications to utilize. Consumer digital is looking for a senior technical product manager to guide the planning, execution, and successful delivery of initiatives across UHC's entire digital membership. The Senior Technical Product Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving the execution of complex technical products. This role bridges the gap between engineering teams and business stakeholders, ensuring products are innovative, scalable, and delivered on time and with quality. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. during XYZ time zone business hours as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business teams to define high-level solutions, data flows, and architectural decisions. Build strong relationships between stakeholders to remove obstacles and resolve conflicts Backlog & Prioritization: Own and manage the product backlog across iOS, Android, and web platforms, ensuring user stories and tasks are prioritized based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility. Tie work items directly to OKRs and business objectives Product Delivery: Lead cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle, from conception to launch and beyond. Ensure products meet quality standards, acceptance criteria, and deliver measurable outcomes Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous feedback loops to ensure teams remain focused on customer needs. Refine product backlog, participate in release planning, and facilitate agile ceremonies AI-Driven: Lead the development of advanced AI-powered solutions, enhancing how members discover and interact with their healthcare providers. Review prototypes for new AI-powered features and analyze new opportunities within the product against the latest technology trends. Collaborate with UX research to validate the latest AI concepts. Partner with AI and ML teams to develop best in class conversational AI tools You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or above Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field 7+ years of experience in technical product management Experience collaborating and leading across multiple partner teams with strong systems thinking Solid knowledge of LLM and data product lifecycle, including discovery, data processing, model development, deployment, and monitoring. Understand how to interact with LLMs through APIs, fine-tune them for specific tasks, and optimize their performance Ability to manage multiple high stakes timelines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with working with global teams Solid technical acumen with the ability to work closely with AI/ML teams and understand model capabilities and limitations *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.
