Responsible for handling plastic resin, setting mold tools in/out of the mold presses and/or setting up & monitoring process parameters along with ancillary equipment to produce the quantity and quality of product that meets or exceeds customer requirements. The level of responsibility corresponds to the position level structure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the handling of plastic resin and regrind to ensure that the proper resin is set-up and maintained to produce a quality part
Responsible to set-up mold press process parameters to produce a quality component with-in the required cycle times. Works to optimize cycle times along with the quality of the components.
Responsible for trouble shooting molding issues to correct product rejections such as short shots, cracks, or other dimensional non-conformances.
Responsible to set-up and maintain anciliary molding equipment such as grinders, thermalators & pickers.
Performs mold change-overs utilizing an overhead hoist to remove & set molds into the mold presses.
Performs mold cleanings to maintain mold tooling with-in required specifications.
Reduce/prevent down time.
Monitors part and paint quality throughout the process..
Lead/participate in cost savings and continuous improvement activities.
Perform process checks as required.
Communicates with other departments as needed.
Follows all safety and personal protective equipment requirements while maintaining a clean work environment.
Support IATF16949 initiatives.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*High School Diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of manufacturing education & experience. Plastics process experience and training highly preferred - RJG/Plausin/Process Training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

What you'll do:
Composite technicians are responsible for fabricating aircraft parts, accessories, and trim in accordance with technical specifications.
Composite technician jobs are detail-oriented and involve crafting, sanding, bonding, assembly, oven and autoclave cures with a variety of composite materials.
Responsibilities also include reading blue prints to ensure project accuracy and completion.
Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments.

Repairing components as needed per manual and router instruction.
Perform hot-bonding, wet lay-up preparation, and cures, using raw materials or pre-pregs, both glass and aramid fiber.

Repair of thermosets and thermoplastics using adhesive bonding.
Perform grinding, sanding, blending, deburring operation. Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment.

The Composite Technician will work with and around a variety of chemicals and follow all OSHA standards in regards to personal protection equipment. Finally, responsibilities will include maintaining the shop floor free from clutter or debris and other duties as directed.
