Quad is seeking Ink Jet Operators to work at their Direct Marketing facility in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
This position is responsible for:
•Operating and troubleshooting Ink Jet Presses- HP, Kodak, etc.
•Read and understand job tickets to prepare the machine and complete make-ready
•Monitor the quality of products coming off of the machine (some products may be mailed out straight off of the press).
•Work with a crew of 4-7 people
•Assist other operators with webbing-up of presses when needed
•Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications:
•Minimum of two years of inkjet or press experience is preferred
•Must be self-motivated, reliable, and quality and safety oriented.
•Strong computer skills and excellent communication is required.
•The ability to work well with others in a team setting, as well as independently at times, is required.
•Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
•Successful candidates must possess solid organizational and problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with little or no supervision.
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, walking, standing, stooping, pulling, and pushing with or without reasonable accommodation is required.
•High School Diploma or GED is preferred

Essential Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust and operate all inkjet equipment.
- Read and interpret written job tickets or other job specifications containing product requirements.
- Complete an inkjet checklist for each job.
- Secure supervisor sign-off of inkjet image before processing job.
- Maintain a working knowledge of postal sorting, traying, sacking, and palletizing mail procedures.
- Examine product frequently to ensure that it meets customer quality specifications.
- Checks for scratches, smearing, proper line layout, OEL, name, address, CSZ and other quality defects.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance as scheduled on assigned machine to ensure its optimum operation.
- Provide supervisor with an inventory report on supplies each week.
- Maintain the supply room’s inventory.
- Pull and inspect run samples and notify Finishing Manager in the event quality standards are not being met.
- Adjusts conveyor belt to shingle mail pieces neatly and in order.
- Stack containers on a skid and keeps track of total container count.
- Move product around using a pallet jack or power dolly, transfer materials to different locations as needed.
- Complete paperwork and reports related to job function, report any problems to supervisor.
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures, making sure work area is hazard free and orderly
- Perform other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Understand mailing specifications, including class, categories of mail pieces, and mail piece design requirements.
- Use hand tools or machines needed to perform operations appropriately and safely.
