1967 Four Chicago schoolteachers join together to create a real estate company

1968

1968 Inland Real Estate is incorporated and forms its first limited partnership.

1969

1969 Inland constructs its first single-family investment home.

1971

1971 Inland constructs its first multi-family investment property and enters into its first land deal.

1974

1974 Inland constructs first shopping center

1977

1977 Inland raises $9 million in capital to begin development of 2,000 apartment units

1984

1984 Inland forms Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation (Inland Investments) to sponsor REITs, private placement investments and public partnerships

1986

1986 Inland ranks 12th largest privately held company in Crain’s Chicago Business and totals over 450 limited partnerships formed to date

1993

1993 Inland owns and manages 10 million square feet and has over $1 billion in assets, and ranks 47th top shopping center owner in the United States in Shopping Center World magazine

1994

1994 Inland forms its first REIT (of eight) called Inland Real Estate Corporation.

2003

2003 Inland Investments forms third REIT, Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust, and begins capital raise

2004

2004 Inland’s first REIT, Inland Real Estate Corporation is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

2006

2006 Inland ranks as Fastest-Growing Acquirer of Retail Property in the United States by Chain Store Age.

2009

2009 Inland Investments begins capital raise for fifth REIT, Inland Diversified Real Estate Trust

2009 Better Business Bureau gives Inland its first Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.

2014

2014 Inland is inducted into the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Corporate Hall of Fame.

2016

2016 Inland Private Capital Corporation (IPC) launches self-storage platform with Metro Storage LLC

2017

2017 Inland real estate purchases reach a cummulative total of $45 billion with more than 720 investment programs.
